Force Gem 18 is an Item in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Location and Uses

Force Gem 18 is an optional Force Gem that can be obtained after Link completes the Sand Temple. If Link then enters the Tower of Spirits, then the next time he comes to a Postbox, he will receive a Letter from Ferrus stating that he has gotten lost while out taking photos, and could use a ride back to his home.[2] The Letter includes a rough map resembling the loops of Spirit Tracks just north of the Goron Target Range, with a red X indicating Ferrus's location. Link can drive the Spirit Train to this location and meet with Ferrus, who, instead of asking to go home, requests a scenic trip to the Ocean Floor,[3] ending at the Station of the Ocean Temple.[4]

The Spirit Tracks created by Force Gem 18

Once they arrive at the Ocean Temple, Ferrus expresses his astonishment for the underwater journey and thanks Link by producing Force Gem 18.[5][6] He decides to stay at the Station indefinitely to study and admire the sights.[7] Force Gem 18 creates a new section of Spirit Tracks in the east end of the Fire Realm that allow access to the Dark Ore Mine before turning south, traveling through a long, Tektite-infested tunnel, and merging with the tracks of the Sand Realm.
