Location and Uses

A Link Between Worlds

After the Captain forgets his Sword at the Blacksmith's Forge, Link is tasked with finding him and returning the Forgotten Sword.[4] This takes Link to the Sanctuary, where he witnesses the Captain locked inside.[5] With help from Dampé, Link takes the Secret Passage under the Graveyard so he can make it into the Sanctuary.[6] Once inside, Link discovers that Yuga has transformed the Captain into a Painting, allowing him to keep the Forgotten Sword.[7]

The Forgotten Sword does half a Heart of damage.[citation needed] It can also be used to cut and break objects such as Grass, Jars, and Signs.

Breath of the Wild

In Breath of the Wild, the Forgotten Sword is a massive sword sculpture originally part of the Statue of the Eighth Heroine.[8] It is located on Gerudo Summit between the statue and East Gerudo Ruins, a moderate distance away from the rest of the statue. A Golden Claymore is found at the base of the blade.

A photo of the Sword is required to be shown to Bozai as part of "The Forgotten Sword" Side Quest.
