Fortune's Choice is a Mini-Game in A Link Between Worlds.[name references needed]

Overview

Fortune's Choice appears in corresponding locations in both Hyrule and Lorule, inside a house in Kakariko Village and Thieves' Town, respectively. Each Mini-Game is run by its respective world's Fortune's Choice Guy.

Rules

Both Mini-Games task Link with simply opening his choice of Treasure Chest(s) from a group of available Chests. He wins whichever prizes have been randomly assigned to the Chest(s) he opens. The available prizes are pre-determined.

Hyrule

In Hyrule, Fortune's Choice costs 50 Rupees and allows Link to open one of two Treasure Chests.

Trivia

  • Statistically, the average winnings in Fortune's Choice in Hyrule is 50.5 Rupees—only 1% greater than the cost to play—meaning that Link would just barely break even by playing the Mini-Game repeatedly.
  • The average winnings in Fortune's Choice in Lorule, after the Piece of Heart is collected, is 252.6 Rupees; over 26% greater than the cost to play. This makes Lorule's version of the Mini-Game more profitable to Link.
