Geggle is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Geggle is a Hylian worker at Tabantha Bridge Stable. Sometime prior to Link's arrival at the Stable, he and Chork went to investigate the Pedestal at Washa's Bluff, but they were unable figure out its secrets.[4]
Link can find Geggle on the cliff behind the Stable, staring up at the Gerudo Highlands. When Link first speaks to him, he asks what he needs.[5] If Link wants to know what he is looking at,[6] Geggle points out a section of the cliff face that appears to be man-made.[7] He asks if Link can see it too, and while he would check it out if he could, he can not make it there on his own.[8] This initiates the "Cliffside Etchings" Shrine Quest.
When spoken to again after this, Geggle recognizes Link.[9] Once more, he points out the strange section of the cliff,[10] claiming he would investigate if he had the energy of an adventurer.[11]
Geggle returns to the cliff even after Link has finished the Shrine Quest, where he looks for something to pique his curiosity.[12] However, he is disappointed at the end of the day when nothing has happened,[13] and he admits that he is simply trying to pass the time.[14]
Throughout the night, Geggle sits inside the Tabantha Bridge Stable. He wonders when he got so old,[15] and he claims if he would be off exploring if he was still young.[16] He feels trapped by his age, as the only thing he can do is stare off into the distance.[17]
