The Gerudo Quiz is an event in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

The Gerudo Quiz takes place during the Side Adventure "Mattison's Independence". Mattison reveals to Link that she is teaching the Gerudo language to residents of Tarrey Town so her mother, Rhondson, will feel less lonely when she leaves.[2] She invites Link to participate in her next lesson with Monari, which will be the Gerudo Quiz.[1]

At the center of Tarrey Town, Link can find Mattison speaking with Monari.[3] When Monari asks if it is time for a lesson, Mattison confirms this, adding that it is a special occasion now that Link has joined then as a student.[4] For the first question of the Gerudo Quiz, Mattison asks what the Gerudo word for "granny" is, which Monari struggles to answer.[5] Afterwards, Link is able to answer with "vava", "vada", or "vaba". If Link chooses either "vava" or "vada", Mattison will inform him that he is incorrect and that Monari is out of time.[6] She then asks if he wants to try again.[7] If Link decides to take another attempt, Mattison will repeat her question.[8] Should Link back out, Mattison reveals that she has written all of her notes in her Notebook.[9]

If Link answers with "vaba", Mattison will state that he is correct.[10] Monari then claims that it was one the tip of her tongue, although she is pleased that someone else in Tarrey Town is knowledgeable in Gerudo as well.[11] Hearing this, Mattison is satisfied that Rhondson will not be lonely when she leaves for Gerudo Town, and she decides to turn her attention toward taking care of her father Hudson.[12]
