The Giant Bomb Bag,(TP | TPHD)[1] also known as the Biggest Bomb Bag,(OoT | MM)[name references needed] and simply Bomb Bags,(TWW | TWWHD)[2] are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.

Location and Uses

Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, the Biggest Bomb Bag is an upgrade to the Big Bomb Bag that increases its carrying capacity from 30 Bombs to 40. It can be obtained by first acquiring the Big Bomb Bag in one of the following manners:

  1. In Goron City, as child Link, use a Bomb to stop the Hot Rodder Goron's rolling while the Goron is inside the northern alcove. He will reward Link for his "courage" with the Big Bomb Bag.[3]
  2. Win the Bombchu Bowling Alley Mini-Game while the Big Bomb Bag is the selected prize.

Whichever upgrade is acquired second will become the Biggest Bomb Bag.

Majora's Mask

The Biggest Bomb Bag in Majora's Mask holds up to 40 Bombs and is purchased from the Business Scrub in Goron Village, who ordinarily sells the upgrade for 1,000 Rupees; more than Link can carry in his Wallet.[4] If Link speaks to the Scrub while in Goron form,[citation needed] he will be able to trade his Big Bomb Bag and buy the upgraded Biggest Bomb Bag for just 200 Rupees.[5]

The Wind Waker

Although Giant Bomb Bags do not appear by any name in The Wind Waker, an equivalent Bomb Bag upgrade can be obtained by approaching the Great Fairies on both Eastern Fairy Island and Southern Fairy Island, the second of which will increase Link's Bomb capacity to 99. Both Fairy Fountains require Bombs to access, though the Huge Rock on Eastern Fairy Island can also be removed with the Power Bracelets, while the wooden boards on Southern Fairy Island can be burned away with a Fire Arrow.

Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, the Giant Bomb Bag is obtained by scoring at least 25 points in Iza's Rapid Ride. As opposed to being an Item that appears in Link's Item Screen, the Giant Bomb Bag simply doubles the capacity of all of Link's other Bomb Bags, allowing them to hold up to 60 Bombs, 30 Water Bombs, or 20 Bomblings.

Notably, the Giant Bomb Bag appears to be made out of the head of a Dodongo, with its neck area being expanded to form a pouch and its snout serving as its opening.
