Queen Gibdo is a Boss in Tears of the Kingdom.[3]

Characteristics

Queen Gibdo is a grotesquely mutated Moth Gibdo. Its wings are powerful enough to allow it to fly despite its large size. Unlike the Gibdos that it commands, it possesses eight limbs, typically using the first two pairs as arms while walking on the other four.

One Queen Gibdo is responsible for the Sand Shroud in the Gerudo region. After this Queen Gibdo is defeated in the Lightning Temple, multiple Queen Gibdos can be found in arenas throughout the Depths.

When defeated in the Depths, Queen Gibdos drop Queen Gibdo Wings. Defeating them unlocks a Treasure Chest containing a Huge Crystallized Charge.

Queen Gibdo is fought twice, once outside the Lightning Temple and a second time within it. During the first battle, it will retreat when it has lost a quarter of its health.

Queen Gibdo rapidly scuttles around the battlefield, trying to charge at Link or spit a stream of sand at him. Its attacks can be predicted by watching for its antennae to change color. It cannot be harmed unless Link uses Riju's Power of Lightning to hit it with a lightning strike, which will make it turn pale and become vulnerable in the same manner as other Gibdos. Doing so will also cause it to alter its attack patterns; it will generate sand tornadoes to attack at long range and conjure sandstorms to hamper Link's vision until it can recover. It will try to keep its distance from Link as best as it can despite its reduced speed in this state, but a second lightning strike will stun it and allow Link to attack with impunity until it recovers.

At half health, Queen Gibdo activates four Gibdo hives in the corners of the battlefield. These will generate an endless swarm of Gibdos and Moth Gibdos to assist Queen Gibdo as long as they remain intact, potentially causing Link to be overwhelmed by their sheer numbers. However, destroying the hives will allow light to shine onto the battlefield, which will damage and eventually kill Gibdos that are exposed to it. Queen Gibdo itself will also generate more sand tornadoes while in its vulnerable state and will start flying around the battlefield in order to avoid Riju's lightning; while flying, it will also attack with an aerial sand stream that will try to track Link's movements.
