While many of these glitches have been tested by editors, we cannot promise that these glitches won't harm your game data or game console. We ask that you please read the Glitch Disclaimer Notes before attempting any of these glitches.
The following is a large list of all the known glitches that can be performed in Tears of the Kingdom. Each glitch will come with instructions on what the glitch does, how to perform the glitch, and if the glitch has been patched (i.e. fixed) or not.
Below, there is a list of glitches and methods that can be used to duplicate Materials. However, there are some glitches that will transmutate Materials from one to another instead of simply making duplicates. While not true duplication glitches, they will still be included as players can collect more common Materials to sacrifice and collect again later, thus essentially duplicating Materials players choose.
Be in the air, then open the Inventory and hold any number of Materials. Then, press B and Y at the exact same time to leave the Inventory and sort it at the same time. The amount of Materials in your Inventory does not change, but it still drops the Materials you held on the ground, effectively duplicating the items you held.
Notes
Using the Paraglider, jumping with a Wing Shield, or performing the glitch in a low-gravity area can allow you to duplicate Materials multiple times in a row, depending on how long you fall for.
Riding on Mineru's Construct counts as being in the air, allowing for the glitch to be performed extremely quickly. Materials dropped can also be immediately picked back up.
A maximum of 21 Materials can be dropped on the ground at once. If any more are dropped, the oldest will start to despawn.
The same duplication can be performed on Zonai Devices, albeit differently: Have the camera and Link stand close to the wall with some distance apart (about half a meter), and bring up the Zonai Devices menu, select any item you wish to duplicate, Y+B, and if performed successfully, a message appears "You can't take that out here", and thus gets re-added back into Link's inventory.
When performing duplication in midair, be careful that items that react on impact will explode (e.g Bomb Flower, gems, Muddlebuds, Puffshrooms) or becomes an entity that cannot be collected (e.g Brightbloom seeds).
At least one of the Material you want to duplicate. If you want to duplicate the fragile Material you have chosen for the prior requirement, you will need a total of 3
If you are on versions 1.2.0-1.4.1, two Weapons or Shields, both having nothing Fused to them. Then you will need one Shield or Weapon that has nothing Fused to it
If you are on versions 1.0.0-1.1.2, two Shields and one Weapon with nothing Fused to them
Instructions
If you choose to do this in Tarrey Town, remove any President Hudson Cutouts near the door to the room next to Rhondson. If you choose to do this in the Akkala Citadel Ruins, allow the nearby Gloom Spawn to dissipate or defeat it.
Once that is done, perform Fuse Entanglement. How it can be done differs depending on your game version. If done properly, the Steering Stick should be dropped next to Link. Next, perform Stick Desync Clip. This can be done by stepping on to the stick without controlling it, dropping the Equipment you have Fuse Entangled the Steering Stick to and immediately controlling it. You should start clipping through floors. Once you have clipped into the out of bounds Water, dismount and void out by drowning. Voiding out should transport you back to the Steering Stick. Your ability wheel should be locked to the last selected ability. Mount something else, such as another Steering Stick, Horse, or Mineru's Construct to unlock it. Next, Fuse the Steering Stick to a Weapon or Shield, depending on which you used to perform Fuse Entanglement. If you used Weapons to Fuse Entangle, Fuse the Steering Stick to a Shield and vice versa.
Drop whichever Equipment you used to Fuse Entangle the Steering Stick to and move it into the culling area. Hold any Material except for the fragile Materials you are going to use and slowly enter the outer margins of the cull zone. Once in the outer margins, Link should cull. If so, open the Inventory to put away the Material Link is holding and hold the fragile Material you have chosen. After that, immediately watch a Memory. Unpause the game and the fragile Material should drop and break. If not, try again from holding the other Material. For those on versions 1.2.0-1.4.1, drop your Equipment to un-cull. For those on versions 1.0.0-1.1.2, un-equip your equipment or swap to another piece of Equipment and watch another Memory.
Move into a safe area such as the room next to Rhondson and place down the now invisible fragile Material. Open the Inventory and hold another one of the fragile Materials you just used along with whatever Material you want to duplicate. Unpause, quickly put away one of the Materials you are holding except for the fragile Material and hold it again to update the bundle. If you would like, repeat that a few times. Next, hold ZL and jump. Right before Link lands back on the ground, prepare to throw a Material or Zonai Capsule, but do not actually throw it. Let go of ZL. Now pick up the Materials. Put away the Item Link is preparing to throw and repeat the process from updating the bundle as much as you like. To end the glitch, put away the fragile Material, hold a Material twice, and put it away.
Notes
Instead of clipping through the floor and voiding out, you can also clip through an activated and hovering Hover Stone or Cart held up by Recall and dismount the Steering Stick before clipping through the ground.
The aforementioned Cart can be found nearby the cull zone in the Akkala Citadel Ruins along with a Steering Stick.
Instead of cancelling the throw, you can continue holding down R while updating the bundle but this risks cancelling the glitch by changing Inventory pages.
At least one Material that can be Fused to Arrows that you want to duplicate
Instructions
Go to the Tobio's Hollow Chasm and stand near the border between the Depths and the Surface around the Coordinates: 1021, -2261, -0156. If you have not completed the second stage of "Guidance from Ages Past", you can reach this location from the Depths at the bottom of the Chasm.
Equip a multi-shot Bow, then use Fuse to attach the Material you want to duplicate to an Arrow and shoot it up the Chasm towards the Surface. Aim just above the horizon line to help ensure the Materials land where the ground levels out, decreasing the odds of them rolling down into the Depths.
If done correctly, the Arrow will despawn mid flight, leaving the Materials hanging in midair. Moving close to the Materials will cause them to fall to the ground, where they can be collected.
Notes
Larger Materials may require a Bow with a Five-Shot Weapon Bonus to be duplicated, as some of the duplicated Materials will be destroyed if they collide with each other in midair.
Some Materials, such as Bomb Flowers and Muddle Buds, will burst after impacting a surface with enough force. For these Materials, it is best to aim as low as possible or to find an alternative duplication method.
This glitch can be performed in other Chasms where you have enough room to shoot Arrows and unload them.
Some Materials are too large to be effectively duplicated this way with normal multi-shot bows. Forcing the Five-Shot Burst Weapon Bonus onto a normal bow will make the arrows spread at a wider angle, allowing larger Materials to be duplicated with this method.
This is similar to an Arrow duplication glitch in Breath of the Wild, where shooting certain objects with a multi-shot or rapid fire Bow would let you collect the extra 1-4 Arrows, despite only firing one.
Electric Materials seem to have a weird property, causing them to frequently stop in the air in an irregular arrangement. Similarly, Dragon Parts push each other away, making it harder for them to collide against each other.
An edible Material. The Material must be in quantities of one in the Inventory and be sorted higher than the Material you wish to duplicate
At least three of any Material you wish to duplicate that can be Fused
Instructions
Tap ZR for Link to hold out a Bow. Next, Fuse the Material you wish to duplicate to an Arrow. Then, enter the Inventory to consume the Material you have chosen and un-equip the Bow. Unpause and either have Link perform a Shield Surf jump, pull out the Paraglider or ride Mineru's Construct. While Link is still airborne, open the Inventory once more. If Stack Splitting has been done correctly, the Material you are aiming to duplicate now has two slots in the Inventory with one in one slot and the rest in the other. Have Link hold as many of the Material you wish to duplicate as you want or he can from the original slot. Depending on your game version, open the Map or sort the Inventory. If you are on versions prior to 1.2.0, sort the Inventory. If you are on versions 1.2.0-1.4.2, either sort the Inventory or open the Map. Then, unpause. If done correctly, the Materials should be dropped on the ground, thus duplicating them.
Notes
This does not work on versions 1.1.0 and 1.1.1.
You may place copies of the edible Material on the ground to lower the quantity of the Material within the Inventory. Keep in mind of the ground Item limit of 21.
Equipment Duplication Glitches
Below, there is a list of glitches and methods that can be used to duplicate pieces of Equipment. However, there are some glitches that will transmutate pieces of Equipment from one to another instead of simply making duplicates. While not true duplication glitches, they will still be included as players can collect more common pieces of Equipment to sacrifice and collect again later, thus essentially duplicating pieces of Equipment players choose.
Equip the Item you wish to dupe and save the game. Drop that Item, and them equip another one. Press the + button twice in quick succession, drop the second Item and reload the save. A copy of the first Item should be on the ground, giving you another one.
Notes
You do not actually need to save when doing this glitch, reloading an existing save works too. However, since the item appears at the coordinates where Link was when he dropped it, reloading an old save likely means it will appear miles away from Link's current location, making it impossible to reach the Item before it despawns.
Find a Rock Octorok and place the piece of Equipment you wish to duplicate in front of it. When the Octorok sucks in the piece of Equipment, use Recall on it just before it enters the Octorok’s mouth. If done correctly, the piece of Equipment should not enter the Octorok's mouth, but it will chew on and spit out a copy of said piece of Equipment, giving you two of them.
Notes
This can be done once per Rock Octorok each Blood Moon cycle. After a Blood Moon has passed, the area the Rock Octorok is in needs to be reloaded for it to refresh its ability to fix Equipment.
This will not work on pieces of Equipment that cannot normally receive Weapon Bonuses.
Go to Link's House and place a Shock Emitter in front of the stand you wish to use. Switch on the Shock Emitter by hitting it. Then, go into the beam of Electricity and place the Item in the stand at the same time Link gets eletrocuted. The Item will appear on both the stand the floor at the same time, duplicating it.
The piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of
A piece of Equipment to sacrifice that is of the same type as the piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of (eg. a Shield if you want a duplicate of a Shield)
Instructions
Perform Mineru Fuse Entanglement with the piece of Equipment you are willing to sacrifice as the target Equipment. Once entangled, dismount Mineru's Construct and pick up the sacrificial piece of Equipment. Open the Inventory and dismiss Mineru's Construct. Then, drop the piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of and unpause. Pick the piece of Equipment you have just dropped back up. Link should be shown as holding the piece of Equipment that was just picked back up while the Inventory shows the sacrificial piece of Equipment being equipped. Drop the piece of Equipment shown as equipped in the Inventory. Then, pick the piece of Equipment back up and if done correctly, the piece of Equipment you were willing to sacrifice should be replaced by the Equipment you wanted a duplicate of.
Notes
This is closely related to another glitch, Fuse Entanglement Desync Weapon State Transfer.
The piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of
A piece of Equipment to sacrifice that is of the same type as the piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of (eg. a Weapon if you want a duplicate of a Weapon)
Instructions
Perform L Cancel Fuse Entanglement with the piece of Equipment you are willing to sacrifice as the target Equipment. Once entangled, open the Inventory and drop the Shield currently equipped. Then, equip another Shield and drop the piece of Equipment you wish to have a duplicate of and unpause. Then, pick up the sacrificial piece of Equipment. Next, pick the Shield you have just dropped back up before doing the same for the other piece of Equipment you have just dropped.
If you are on versions 1.2.0-1.4.1, two Weapons or Shields, both having nothing Fused to them. Then you will need 1 Shield or Weapon that has nothing Fused to it, respectively
If you are on versions 1.0.0-1.1.2, two Shields and 1 Weapon with nothing Fused to them
Instructions
Mount something else such as another Steering Stick, Horse, or Mineru's Construct to unlock it. Teleport to a nearby Shrine or Travel Medallion to be able to move the Steering Stick with Ultrahand. With Ultrahand, move the Steering Stick into the culling area, drop the equipment you Fuse Entangled the Steering Stick to, and move it into the outer margins of the cull zone.
Equip any Equipment you want to have duplicates of and walk into the outer margins until Link culls. Pause to swap to the sacrificial Equipment, unpause, and drop the sacrificial Equipment. Then, watch a Memory to briefly un-cull. Take advantage of this and walk back towards the culling area until Link un-culls without needing to watch Memories. Use Ultrahand to bring the Equipment towards Link and pick them up. Un-equip and re-equip the Equipment you have transformed to re-sync your Inventory. Repeat this from equipping the Equipment you want duplicates of as much as you like and as long as you have sacrificial Equipment.
Other Duplication Glitches
Below, there is a list of glitches and methods that can be used to duplicate other Items or entities.
Lose 1 heart by getting hit with his Gloom attacks
Trade the other heart to the Horned Statue
Summon Ganondorf again, and die to get revived with 5 hearts
Trade those two hearts to the Horned Statue
Repeat for as many upgrades as you want, and ask for the extra Hearts/Stamina when you're done.
Notes
By doing this, you can max out both your hearts and stamina at the same time, which is usually impossible in game. This lets you see unused text if you interact with a Goddess Statue
Memory-related glitches
In both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, watching a Memory causes the game to advance by one frame, despite being in a pause screen. This causes entities in the overworld to perform actions: Enemies moving and/or attacking, NPCs moving around, etc. Certain actions like cutscene triggers and Link taking damage are disabled, since such events should not occur during a pause screen.
Go to any Cave and watch a Memory. The Cave will revert to the temperature of the surrounding area. This can be useful in Eldin (Region) due to it disabling the Scorching Climate effect. In Hebra, however, it will make the Cave as cold as the surrounding area instead.
Notes
If the temperature of a scorching hot Cave is reset, things like Bomb Arrows can be used safely.
Opening a Treasure Chest, collecting a new Item, or doing anything that displays a text box will disable the glitch, though it can be easily activated again by watching another Memory.
At least one Weapon or Bow, at least one Arrow, and ability to view Memories
Instructions
Go to the Enemy you want to defeat and swing your weapon. Pause just before it hits and enter the menu. If you are unable to drop the equipped Weapon and there is no hit flash effect on screen, your timing was correct.
Then, take the enemy's HP and divide it by the number of damage your Weapon does, taking into account any Added Effects added by Meals or Armor. If there is a decimal, round up. Watch that many Memories and unpause. The Enemy should drop dead the second Link exits the menu. Each time the Memory is being watch, damage is registered to the Enemy.
The same can be done with a Bow and Arrow by shooting an Arrow at an Enemy, pausing right before it hits, and watching the relevant number of Memories. This will let Link defeat almost anything with a single Arrow, provided he watches another Memory in the process.
Notes
Dungeon Bosses require two uses of this glitch, since they can only lose up to 50% of their max HP when hit with an attack.
This glitch cannot be used against the Demon King Ganondorf or the endgame Boss rush at Gloom's Origin, since it is impossible to watch Memories at that point.
Go to Gerudo Town and pause the game. Equip any type of Armor that would usually get him arrested, and without unpausing, watch a memory. Equip an allowed outfit again and unpause. Now you can wear whatever you like without being thrown in jail.
Notes
Reloading a save will disable the glitch.
The guards at the entrances will still detect and throw Link out if he is shirtless or jail him if he is wearing the Yiga Clan Attire.
Miscellaneous glitches
Fuse Entanglement
Fuse Entanglement is a glitch that is used to interrupt the Fusing process, forming a connection between the Equipment you want to Fuse Entangle to (referred to as the parent or base) and the object you want to Fuse Entangle (referred to as the child or target) while keeping them separated. The child will be shown as Fused in the Inventory while also existing outside of the Inventory. If the parent no longer exists outside of the Inventory, the connection will be severed and the child will disappear, ending the glitch. Throughout the different versions of the game, Fuse Entanglement is always possible but different methods may get patched as updates are released. Additionally, Fuse Entanglement is the basis of countless other glitches and will be used to perform other glitches.
The object you wish to Fuse Entangle. If the object is not a piece of Equipment, you will also need either of the following:
The requirements for Portable Culling
The requirements for Like Like Stick Culling
Instructions
Method 1 (Equipment Only)
Mount Mineru's Construct and press X to prepare to Fuse to it. Equip and drop the target Equipment. Press either L, R or Y to begin the Fusing process. Pause the game exactly three frames later. You can either time the input yourself or use Memories to advance the game by one frame and better time it. If you pause three frames after the input, the piece of Equipment should be a white to yellow to green glow. To use Memories, enter the Inventory immediately after the input. If you can see there is still green light highlighting the target and connecting it to the head of Mineru's Construct, open the Adventure Log and view two Memories. If there no longer is any green light highlighting the target and connecting it to the head of Mineru's Construct, view one Memory. After three frames have passed since the input, unpause the game. If done correctly, Mineru's Construct should behave like there is something Fused to wherever you Fuse Entangled to while the piece of Equipment is on the ground.
Method 2 (Portable Culling)
Method 3 (Like Like Stick Culling)
Notes
The object Fuse Entangled to Mineru's Construct will cull whenever the Construct disappears.
When the object is a piece of Equipment Link has equipped and Mineru's Construct is dismissed, it will create a desync which can lead to transmutation or Weapon State Transfer.
Highlight the object you wish to Fuse Entangle with the Fuse ability activated. Then, hold down L and right before the Ancient Powers wheel appears, press ZL. If done correctly, the object should be a white to yellow to green glow. Release L and immediately open the quick menu for shields via pressing and holding D-pad left. You can also begin mashing D-pad left before releasing L and holding D-pad left after the Ancient Powers wheel disappears. Select another Shield and release D-pad left. If done correctly, the object should be Fuse Entangled.
Notes
This only works for Shields as the parent.
If you select another Shield and it already has something Fused to it, that object will essentially be replaced.
Stand in front of a wall with Link's back up to it. This can can be terrain or Objects that manipulated by Ultrahand. Make sure he is positioned so that attempting to drop a Weapon or a Shield will result in the "You can't take that out here" message. This is so the item will be returned Link's Inventory once the glitch is complete.
Equip the Weapon or Shield you want to duplicate. Open the Ability selection menu and select the Map. Let go of the L button to close the menu, and then immediately mash on the D-pad to go to the Weapons or Shields mini-menu. If the Map screen opens, then the timing is too late. Go to the Item you have equipped and drop it. As the menu closes, immediately mash the D-pad to re-open the menu again. Equip another Weapon or Shield, then let go of the D-pad. The Map should open. Go to the Inventory menu from the map screen by pressing plus, then drop your equipped Weapon.
Unpause the game. If done properly, the "You can't take that out here" message will be displayed. Link will now have multiple melee Weapons or shields stuck on his hand or his back, even when none of these are equipped.
Notes
The "drawn state" of the Weapon or Shield being held before performing the glitch will remain stuck on Link's hand or back. This can be bypassed by removing and re-equipping it in the Inventory menu.
This glitch can be performed multiple times, further stacking the items on Link. After a certain point, however, Link's model will begin to experience issues loading, such as his arms and torso T-posing or his body parts disappearing. Several animations performed by Link will stop working properly, like swinging Weapons, using the Steering Stick, mounting rideable Creatures or Lynels, or sitting on Mineru's Construct. The camera will also begin to zip when using the Ultrahand or Autobuild.
If multiple Weapons are drawn out at the same time as a result of this glitch and are used on an Enemy or a destructible Object, the game will register each of them striking, effectively stacking the damage.
If Link drops the equipped Item from the menu, all the Items on Link's model as a result of the glitch will drop at once.
Save, then place a Pin down where you want the camera to start from. Go over there and prepare to use Ascend. Once Link looks up at the Sky, reload your save.
The camera will start off where you used Ascend and zoom in on Link's current location, as if captured by a drone.
Notes
Using Recall slows down the camera when it moves towards Link, while using Ultrahand lets you change the camera angle.
Open the menu and select the Zonai Device you want to carry in. Right after "Take out Device" and "Cancel" options appear, press A and B at the same time, exit the menu, then enter the Shrine of Light. Once there, you can go into the pause menu and and notice that the list of Items will appear. Press A to drop the Zonai Devices you had stored.
An Autobuild contraption with at least one fence from a depot at the Construct Factory.
Instructions
Use Autobuild to create the contraption and repeat the process several times. Once around a hundred fences have been made, the game will start to break, with effects like the music cutting out, sound effects not working, animations for elemental attacks freezing or not playing out at all, etc. Depending on the area, this can also crash the game altogether, or lead to Link ending up in the Title Screen room when a save is reloaded.
Notes
If this glitch is done outside of a Mini-Game or the final boss battle, the game will remove the fences with a Panic Blood Moon once about a hundred have been loaded in.
The effects of this glitch vary based on the area, with the game crashing more quickly in Mini-Games or while building Link's House than during the final battle.
In later versions of Tears of the Kingdom, the game will remove extra fences like it would other Autobuild items, preventing the game from getting overloaded.
Causes any Enemy or Boss in Link's attacking range to register taking a hit each frame while a popup appears.
Requirements
One Weapon that Link has not previously obtained
Instructions
Using Ultrahand, place the unknown Weapon near an Enemy. Perform a Spin Attack on the Enemy using a Two-Handed Weapon. On the frame the Enemy takes a hit, pick up the unknown weapon.
Lets you sell Weapons, Shields, Bows, and Key Items an infinite number of times
Requirements
No Materials collected, and hence no Materials tab in the inventory.
Instructions
Complete the Great Sky Island without collecting any Materials, then offer to sell to a shopkeeper. You will be able to choose items to sell from the last tab you unlocked, whether that be Weapons, Shields, Bows or Key Items.
Notes
Because the game cannot remove the affected item from Link's Inventory, you can sell anything outside of the Materials or Armor tab an infinite number of times, letting you quickly reach the maximum Rupee cap.
This glitch does not work with Zonai Devices, so if that is the last tab discovered, the game will choose the one you unlocked before it instead.
Ride Mineru's Construct, then pause the game. Dismiss the Construct from the pause menu and watch a Memory. Hold an Item, then watch another Memory. Unpause, and when you use the scope or camera, there will be no UI, and you will be able to experience the game from Link's perspective.
Drop any Two-Handed Weapon or Spear. Then, hold ZL and press Y without any Weapon equipped. While Link is still reaching for a Weapon, press A to pick up the Weapon you previously dropped. If done correctly, Link should be able to use Two-Handed Weapons or Spears along with Shields as if it were a One-Handed Weapon while keeping the Weapon’s range of motion.
Notes
If you have obtained the Earthwake Manual, make sure it is disabled for this to work. Alternatively, pressing R to make an attempt to throw instead of Y also works.
You can also switch between Weapons without ending the glitch.
However, the glitch will end when either the Shield or Weapon is unequipped.
Equip the Weapon, Bow, or Shield you want to smuggle. Stand with your back to a wall. Pause, then drop the Weapon, Bow, or Shield. After that, equip a different one and then drop it as well. Unpause. You should get a message saying "You can't take that out here." Afterwards, you will be able to use your invisible Equipment.
Notes
This glitch is exclusive to 1.2.0 and will not work on any other version.
The glitch does not persist through loading screens.
There is a small chance that the message stating, "You can't take that out here." does not appear and your target Equipment disappears. If this happens, reload a save and try again.
Go to the Cave in the Southern Mine, follow it around until you get to a passageway with a Treasure Chest at the end of a Mine-Cart Track. Stand next to the Chest and Ascend. If done right, you will end up out of bounds on the roof of the tunnel.
A Shield that is has not been Fused to. Depending on your method of setting up the GAS glitch, you may also need a separate Weapon that has not been Fused to or a Shock Emitter
Enough Bows and Arrows to defeat the sixth set of Monster Forces if using Weapons disables GAS
A means of traveling back to Hyrule Castle without disabling GAS. This may take form in 1-2 Wings, Meals that provide enough Stamina to Glide, or some contraption built with Ultrahand that can fly.
Continue the Main Quest "Crisis at Hyrule Castle" to the point where Link is following Phantom Ganon through Hyrule Castle and the fifth set of Monster Forces is defeated. Then, leave the Castle to set up the GAS. From this point on, do not do anything to disable GAS. This may include holding out your Shield, un-equipping/changing your Shield/Weapon, attacking with your Weapon, or teleporting. Travel to the Sanctum and set up GAS warp. This can be done by holding a Portable Pot or Big Battery, partially Ascending through it and cancelling a moment later. If done correctly, the game should make an automatic save. If not, try again and wait longer before cancelling Ascend. Then, finish off the last set of Monster Forces. Go to the Collect the Sand-SealMini-Game game near Nabi Lake and start the game. Void out by drowning to respawn in the Sanctum and start the battle. You will get asked if you want to quit the Mini-Game. Confirm that you want to quit the Mini-Game, and you will be able to Warp to the Serutabomac Shrine in the Castle. Warp there, and then Warp to anywhere else you would like. You now have an unbreakable Master Sword.
Notes
Every time you open the game from the Switch home menu and load this file, you will be placed back in the Sanctum. Reload the save to fix this.
Defeating Phantom Ganon in the Sanctum will end this glitch.
If you go near Hyrule Castle in this state, Phantom Ganon's boss health bar will appear, the battle music will start playing, he will start chasing Link around.
The Champion's Leathers will no longer be obtainable as long as the glitch is active.
Place down some Hover Stones above where Zelda falls in the ending while in the Demon Dragon battle. Attach Batteries to them so they stay airborne and some Dragon Parts to keep them loaded in. Now, when the falling sequence occurs, have Link land on the platform you built. From here you can escape by using other glitches to reach a nearby Sky Island and play a Mini-Game, which then activates warping.
Notes
In this state, the Light Dragon will try to follow Link, even on the ground. No collision was programmed for her, so she will often go through the terrain to catch him.
If Link hits the platform without a Fairy, he can die in the ending.
Use Cutscene Combo Amplification against Queen Gibdo so she loses more than 50% of her health in one hit. When the second phase of the battle starts, she will be immune to all attacks, including elemental ones.
Notes
This is similar to the invincible Ganon glitch from Breath of the Wild. Both also occur when boss health bar overloads due to taking too much damage at once.
While this glitch is only confirmed to work against Queen Gibdo, it might work on some other Bosses too. Based on existing tests, it is confirmed not to happen against overworld bosses, Marbled Gohma, or the Seized Construct.
Ride Mineru's Construct and interact with an Object that causes dialogue to appear or a cutscene to start. In many cases, you will keep moving while it is active, which can cause strange effects if you get far enough away.
Go to the Foothill Monster Den. Create a barrier with Ultrahand and place it right behind the two Zonai Survey Team members at the entrance. Create a flying machine next to the entrance so it is close to the barrier. Glide into the Cave, then land in between the members. Decline the Quest, and the barrier should stop Link from leaving the event trigger. Now, jump onto the barrier, then onto the flying machine. Head to the South Akkala Stable and drop a Wing or Hover Stone near the All-Clucking Cucco. Speak to it while standing on one, then rocket up into the air. Glide into the South Akkala Stable Well without touching the ground and land in the water. Void out to warp back to the Foothill Monster Den, starting the event. Accept the event, and wait for the timer to run out for the Cucco challenge. Choose to quit, then warp to Hestu. Every upgrade you buy will now just cost just one Korok Seed, rather than a gradually increasing amount. Once done, head back to the Cave and and exit the quest to get all your new Inventory slots.
Notes
If the player saves and exits after having escaped from the Cave quest, they will be told they "Can't leave right now" and placed back near the Stable's coordinates. Reloading the save file removes this flag.
Saving and reloading after having escaped the Cave quest will clear the Inventory entirely. This will keep happening until the Quest has been quit as expected.
A method of slowing down time by drawing the Bow in midair.
Instructions
While in midair, repeatedly fire Opal Arrows at a patch of Hard Sediment, using the generated effects to slow the game down. After enough shots, the game will slow down enough that it will take multiple seconds to fire another shot. At this time, put away the Bow and allow Link to fall to the ground. If done correctly, a "panic" Blood Moon will immediately be triggered. After landing on the ground, the Blood Moon sequence can be carried to another save file if it is loaded in the few seconds before the sequence begins.
Alternatively, Topaz Arrows can be fired at a Water Globules or some surfaces of Water (ex. the lake next to the Floating Coliseum) while Link is in midair to trigger the "panic" Blood Moon. Ensure that Link is not too close to the target, as the areas of effect created by the Topaz Arrows will interrupt Link if he is within them without the appropriate protection.
Notes
This exploit is not strictly a glitch, as "panic" Blood Moons are an intended feature.
This method does not work on version 1.0.0. However, forcing Blood Moons is still possible on 1.0.0 with other methods, such as combining GAS with Recall or Moobe.
Instead of putting away the Bow and allowing Link to fall to the ground, you can reload a previous save and still trigger a forced Blood Moon, allowing you to regain the Materials and Durability used. However, doing this with the method that uses Opals does not work on versions past 1.1.1. Loading into a save made prior to Link and Zelda finding Ganondorf beneath Hyrule Castle will prevent the forced Blood Moon from occurring.
Place down a device behind the two Zonai Survey Team members in front of the Foothill Monster Den, blocking Link from exiting after declining the Side Adventure. Make sure your flying machine is near that barricade too. Then, land between them and decline the quest. Jump on the barricade and then the flying machine
Go to the Hyrule Castle Chasm and land on a Hover Stone or Wing. Setup the GAS glitch. You can also do this on later versions in other areas, so long as you never touch the ground unless standing on a Wing, Hover Stone, or other Zonai device.
Reach the Demon King's Army battle, keeping the GAS glitch going with charges as necessary. Start the battle.Jump off to void out and appear near the Foothill Monster Den. Start the Side Adventure. Then, exit or finish the quest to escape with the Sages in tow.
Notes
There are various methods of doing this on other versions of the game. These include taking a mini game host to the Demon King's Army battle, using a sequence of FE and ZLOT setups to escape the battle, or using a modded file and unused item.
If you speak to Purah after the completing "Guidance from Ages Past", the Sages will disappear. This is the only Main Quest that gets rid of them, and it can be avoided by beginning "Destroy Ganondorf" before performing the glitch.
If you Ascend out of the Depths via an Ascend Access Point, Mineru will say she is unable to follow you and the screen will reload. However, once you actually reach the Surface, she will have rejoined you anyway.
Completing certain Main Quests breaks most Sage abilities. You will not be able to use them while on the ground, and the prompt for Tulin's Power of Wind will not appear while Paragliding. However, Yunobo's Power of Fire will still be usable when riding a vehicle, and Mineru's Construct will function as expected.
If you play another Sage quest in this state, the new sage will not show up outside of cutscenes. The triggers for things like Boss battles and the Secret Stone cutscene will appear as expected though, and upon seeing the latter, they will appear outside the entrance to Gloom's Origin. Encountering them here has them join your party.
Going back to the Demon King's Army battle has the last wave of enemies you fought appear immediately without a cutscene. Defeating them here has the next wave start as normal, and it also teleports Link and the Sages back to the battlefield.
Place several hundred or so Stamps on the same Map layer relatively close to each other. Zoom out to decrease their relative distance. If done correctly, the map will rapidly flicker blue, yellow and purple shapes when Stamps are being edited.
Notes
Epilepsy Warning: it is highly recommended you avoid doing this glitch if you suffer from epilepsy, are prone to seizures or sensitive to bright/flashing lights.
Lets you ride Mineru's Construct in towns and other areas it is usually not allowed in.
Requirements
Instructions
Ride Mineru's Construct outside of a town, Stable, or other area Sage Avatars will not appear. Aim one of the Construct's arms
Walk into town while still aiming. The Construct will stick around until you stop aiming.
Notes
Being stunned by Cannon fire will stop the Construct from moving long enough for it to disappear, so it is recommended you either use another item when doing this glitch or aim your shots carefully.
Lets you hold Materials in the menu but not in game. This allows you to dupe them, transfer them across save files and repeatedly sell them without losing them.
Ride Mineru's Construct, pause the game, and disable the Vow of Mineru, Sage of Spirit in the menu. Next, hold the items you want to smuggle. Then, watch two Memories. Once you unpause, you will be holding the items in the menu, but not in game.
Notes
If you die after performing this glitch, quit to the menu, load a save file, and hold another item. The items you were previously smuggling will appear when you drop it. This lets you bring them through time.
Mulberry's Out of Body Experience (Moobe)
This glitch has not been patched.
Mulberry's Out of Body Experience
Effect
Warps Link to his previous climbing position while the game is pausing, allowing item desync
Requirements
Instructions
Set a Climbing position by Climbing a wall. Either jump towards a wall and watch a Memory or press A to drop off a cliff and watch a Memory at the same time the game should load for a while, and Link's position on the map should have reset to the first wall he climbed
If you unpause, the camera will rapidly move towards Link's current location. This has a high chance of causing a "panic" Blood Moon or even softlocking the game
Notes
If you change equipment while in this state, the game sometimes fails to synchronize them properly. This lets you overwrite equipment like in Breath of the Wild.
Occasionally, textures will fail to load properly while the camera is moving back. This causes part of Link's model to have messed up colors, an effect known as tearing.
If you ride a Horse to the place you set up the initial climb, and then watch 30 Memories during this process, it is possible to warp back to it.
Prior to completing Crisis at Hyrule Castle, clip into the rooms with the Charged Set and obtain them early. Clear the Thunderhead Isles by using a Zonai Charge on the altar, then activate Guidance from Ages Past, making sure to open the Challenge Door as you do so. Then, once you start the Secret of the Ring Ruins quest, it becomes impossible to complete, since Tauro isn't present at the Zonai Ruins and there's no way to advance the quest.
Notes
This happens because of how the game's story sequence works. If you cleared Crisis at Hyrule Castle, then interacting with the Zonai Relic marks The Secret of the Ring Ruins as complete, and activates Guidance from Ages Past. If you activated Guidance from Ages Past before Crisis at Hyrule Castle, then activating the altar marks that quest as complete instead. By activating the altar and getting Mineru's Construct early, the sequence falls to pieces.
A Monster that can equip Equipment and be disarmed and near a Gloom Spawn.
A means of disarming the Monster, such as Dazzlefruit
Instructions
Give the Equipment you want to repair to a Monster near a Gloom Spawn's location. You may have to disarm it through the use of Items like Dazzlefruit. Aggravate the Gloom Spawn to unload the Enemy holding your Equipment, then either defeat it and Phantom Ganon or let it dissipate to load the Enemy back in. The Equipment you gave the Monster will have its Durability fully restored. Disarm or defeat the Monster to re-obtain your Equipment.
Notes
If the Weapon you repair has an Object Fused to it, its Fuse durability will not be restored. It is best to repair Weapons with this method before using Fuse on them.
This occurs because Gloom Spawn unloads any other Enemy upon appearing. However, the game does not keep track of the Durability of any Equipment that affected Enemies are holding, and so will create a new version of the Item when they reappear instead.
Make sure you have a full inventory, and that there's a weapon on the ground. Spam A to pick up the weapon when the enemy grabs it, then drop a weapon and equip a different one. You'll be able to take the weapon the enemy picked up from right out of their hands.
Find a ragdollable enemy with enough health, attack them them in a way they get knocked back into the ground. When they are down, immediately freeze them via throwing a material such as the ice fruit at them, then thaw them with an item that would set them aflame, such as a Ruby. Make sure the thawing process that Link does not directly throw the material at them, they must merely get caught in the radius of the explosion.
What will happen is that the enemy will remain in a sort of stunned state while still being able to move around. For Constructs, they may start zipping around randomly.
Notes
if you send the already ragdolled enemy into ragdoll form again eg. hitting it with a weapon enough times or blowing it over with a weapon that can blow enemies over the enemy will get back up and act like normal
Attach a Hydrant to Link's Weapon. Then, stand on the Steering Stick, but do not control it. Put away Link's Weapon, change it, then change it back to the original. Throw Link's weapon and activate Recall, but do not Recall anything. Wait 30 to 60 seconds, then Press B and then start mashing A. At this point, Link will clip into the ground.
Notes
The glitch may not always work, but this can be fixed by moving to a new location.
Lynel Skew
This glitch has not been patched.
Lynel Skew
Effect
Causes any Lynel with Two-Handed Weapons to be askew while on a sloped terrain
Requirements
Find any Lynel on the map that is holding a two-handed weapon and near a sloped terrain, such as near the edge of North Akkala Valley.
Instructions
Lure the Lynel to an area where the ground is sloped. After any end of any attack animation, be behind the Lynel so that it performs a Spin Attack. When this happens, not only the Lynel is rotating horizontally, but also vertically. After this animation ends, the Lynel's rotation remains skewd vertically until the Lynel moves around enough to realign.
Causes the game to think you have the Energy Cell while not actually having it
Requirements
Instructions
Speak to the Steward Construct that typically gives Link the Energy Cell. Although they claim they are giving Link the Cell, he will not actually receive it.
Notes
This only applies if Link tries to get Energy Cell from the Steward Construct rather than from clearing the In-isa Shrine
An edible Material. The Material must be in quantities of one in the Inventory and be sorted higher than the Material you wish to create a second slot for
Instructions
Tap ZR for Link to hold out a Bow. Next, Fuse the Material you wish to create a second slot for to an Arrow. Then, enter the Inventory to consume the Material you have chosen and un-equip the Bow. Unpause. If done correctly, there should be a second slot for the Material you Fused in the Inventory.
Lets Link keep the Master Sword from the intro, giving him a 30 power weapon with infinite durability.
Requirements
None
Instructions
Go to the In-isa Shrine and manually save the game. Next, head to the title screen and start a new file, getting an auto save before the Demon King Ganondorf cutscene in the process. Head back to the file inside the Shrine. Then, take the Boulders near the start to the edge of the area with the Fire Fruit trees.
Place them near the wall, stand on top of one of the Boulders, and do the Save/Load Duplication glitch with any Weapon.
Load the autosave from the prologue. You will find the weapon you dropped on the stairs leading to the Ganondorf cutscene. Pick it up to access to the inventory.
Now, do the Save/Load Duplication glitch again with the Master Sword here, then load the file from inside the Shrine. The glitched Master Sword will now be present near the Fire Fruit trees, and it can be collected like any other Weapon.
Notes
This Master Sword does not have a name, and it will display 'MessageNotFound' in the Inventory.
The Fuse ability cannot be used on it without additional glitches.
When fused with another Object, the grey text showing the fuse combination for the base weapon will be the last text that the cursor is on another fused weapon or shield. E.g When the cursor is on a Royal Broadsword with something attached to it, and the cursor is then moved to the MsgNotFound, that MsgNotFound fuse combination will say "Royal Broadsword + object fused to MsgNotFound"
Unlike the normal Master Sword, it can be dropped or thrown, but it still cannot be placed on a Weapon Stand.
Allows Link to keep the Master Sword from the prologue via Zelda Notes in the Switch 2 version of the game.
Requirements
* Autobuild
Nintendo Switch Online app with Zelda Notes
Access to Autobuild Sharing
Instructions
* Equip a weapon you don't mind losing, then save the game
Download the relevant Autobuild from Zelda Notes Autobuild Sharing, and hover over it in the menu
Close Autobuild sharing, and open the pause menu
Head to the title screen
Start a new game on the same save file
When you gain control of Link, reload your manual save
Drop the equipped weapon to get the MsgNotFound
Notes
This Autobuild works by overriding the Link/pouch actor when hovered over in the menu
While the MsgNotFound is usually used for it, it can also be used to clone any piece of equipment in the game, or transfer them across save files (including into the prologue)
By using it carefully with an existing MsgNotFound, it's possible to fuse materials to the weapon using this build
It can also be used to display weapons like the MsgNotFound, Master Sword or Damaged Master Sword in Link's House.
