Appearances

Link's Awakening

Main article: Christine

In Link's Awakening, an anthropomorphic goat named Christine lives in the Animal Village. She plays a role in the Trading Quest. Christine will give Link the Letter in exchange for the Hibiscus, which may be then delivered to Mr. Write, whom she is writing to.

Twilight Princess

Main article: Ordon Goat

In Twilight Princess, Ordon Goats are the primary livestock of Ordon Village, where they are mainly kept for their Milk production.[citation needed] Ordon Goats have enormous horns that form a complete circle above their heads. This defining trait is used as a common motif around Ordon Village. The goats are notoriously stubborn and liable to escape. [2]. Ordona, the Spirit of Ordona Province, appears to Link in the form of an Ordon Goat.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom

Main articles: Mountain Goat and White Goat

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom feature Mountain Goats and White Goats that appear throughout Hyrule. Mountain Goats are aggressive toward Link and are commonly found in Hyrule Ridge and the Great Hyrule Forest. They drop Raw Meat when killed. White Goats are domestic variants of Mountain Goats with white coats and a docile demeanor. They are found in pens at certain Stables and cannot be harmed by Link. Goat Butter is produced from their milk.[3]

The following section is not part of the Zelda canon and should not be taken as such.

In Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip of Love, there is a unique species of Goats that have large, drooping noses and woolly fleece. A herd of colorful Goats are kept in the Usotami Chief's room in the Usotami Village. Liar must milk one of these Goats in order to collect its Milk and give to Tingle, which is then used to calm Big Liar.

Tingle can also be transformed into a Goat if he gives an incorrect answer during Big Liar's Boss fight.
