Goma Asaagh is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]

Biography

Breath of the Wild

Goma Asaagh is a Sheikah Monk who serves the Goddess Hylia. Following the first Great Calamity and the ostracism of the Sheikah 10,000 years prior to Breath of the Wild, Goma Asaagh became a Monk and constructed an Ancient Shrine to help prepare Link against the threat of Calamity Ganon.[4][1]

Following Link's Slumber of Restoration in the Shrine of Resurrection, the Goma Asaagh Shrine is activated and can then be entered by someone bearing a Sheikah Slate.[5] When Link enters the Shrine, he is greeted by the Monk and is offered the Shrine's Trial in the name of Hylia.[2] If Link completes the Trial, Goma Asaagh praises him and rewards the Hylian Champion with a Spirit Orb.[6] With their role fulfilled, Goma Asaagh wishes Link well as their body fades away.[7]

The following section is not part of the Zelda canon and should not be taken as such.

As part of the "Trial of Goma Asaagh" Quest, Goma Asaagh asks the Warriors to offer them proof of their triumphs in combat, in addition to a "token of endurance."[8] When the Warriors give them the proper Materials, Goma Asaagh rewards them by improving their strength, which results in Monk Maz Koshia receiving a bonus Special-Attack Gauge.[9][10]
