Grand Trophy
The Grand Trophy,[1] also referred to as a Jewel,[2] is an Object in Breath of the Wild.
Location and Uses
The Grand Trophy is an Ancient Orb that is found at the Sand-Seal Rally in the Gerudo Desert. It is displayed in front of a Concave Slot. For 10,000 years, the Grand Trophy has been given to Sand-Seal Racing champions.[1] They have passed down a legend about the Trophy,[3] which states that the chosen one will gain a new power when the "holy jewel" is offered to a pedestal.[4] However, no racers have been able to obtain this power.[5]
Initially, when Link tries to take the Grand Trophy, Shabonne will stop him and say only winners of the Sand-Seal Race can touch it.[6] Link can obtain the Trophy by beating Tali's record, which is 1 minute and 30 seconds.[7] Agreeing to try and beat the record begins "The Undefeated Champ" Shrine Quest.
When Link successfully beats Tali's time, Shabonne will be shocked.[8] Tali will graciously hand over the Grand Trophy to Link,[9] She informs him of the legend surrounding the Trophy, but since she senses a great power from him, she encourages him to give it a shot.[10] When Link places the Grand Trophy into the Concave Slot, it will disappear and activate the Socket. This causes Raqa Zunzo Shrine to emerge from the sand, which completes the Shrine Quest.
