Great Flameblades are two-handed Weapons made by Goron smiths in an ancient age.[1] Due to their elemental nature, they belong to the Magic Gear equipment archetype.[2] They appear in the overworld of Hyrule Kingdom, and they have a base attack damage of 34. Their additional elemental bonus adds 10 to the damage in a single hit if the they are charged.[1]

Great Flameblades are appear in the following locations:

Great Flameblades are among one of the most useful Weapons in non-combat scenarios. Upon a swing, Great Flameblades can turn Wood into Campfires, at which Link can rest. Carrying a Great Flameblade also grants Link one level of Cold Resistance. They will one-shot Ice-related Enemies, such as Ice Wizzrobes and Ice-Breath Lizalfos, when used against them.[3]

Being made from metal, Great Flameblades will attract Lightning if they are equipped during a Thunderstorm and conduct Electricity. They will sink in Water, but they can be picked up and manipulated using the Magnesis Rune. They also do not burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate.
