Boilerplates are snippets of code and text that can be inserted into articles to quickly construct pages or sentences that follow a similar structure. They often serve as the skeleton of pages that have yet to be written and are a convenient way to create articles that follow the general Guidelines. To insert a Boilerplate, you must first select it from the dropdown list at the top right of the edit box and then click the corresponding button to the right of the list. This inserts the pre-formatted text wherever the cursor is selected in the editing field.
There are a number of different Boilerplates, each separated by the category of Boilerplate (
Text) followed by the use case of the Boilerplate (such as page or section type, or the purpose of the text yet to be inserted). Boilerplates are locked off from editing to anyone except Staff. If changes or corrections need to be made to any given Boilerplates, please ping
@Wiki Staff in the .
