Hearty Salmon

Hearty Salmons are recurring Creatures and Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3][4]
Characteristics
Breath of the Wild
Hyrule Compendium Entry
Hearty Salmons inhabit cold bodies of Water within the Hebra Mountains and the Tabantha Frontier. Their bodies accrete layers of fat in response to this, insulating them from their cold surroundings.[1] Eating them raw restores four Hearts to Link's Life Gauge. Exposed to fire, Hearty Salmons become Roasted Hearty Salmons. Alternatively, they can be exposed to Ice to become Frozen Hearty Salmon. Meals made using Hearty Salmons will grant Link Extra Hearts when eaten.[1]
During the Shrine Quest "Recital at Warbler's Nest", Kotts can be found fishing for Hearty Salmon at the Fishpond in Front of the Village.[5] When reminded of the recital, she will give Link a Hearty Salmon for Genli.[6]
