Highland Sheep are timid Creatures that are known to gather in herds.[3] They are often found in pastures alongside Hateno Cows and White Goats, particularly at Hateno Pasture and certain Stables. Originally, Highland Sheep lived in the mountains, but they have since been domesticated.[3] This is because of their wool, which is harvested in order to craft clothes and bedding.[3] Highland Sheep are herbivorous and will eat certain Materials, such as herbs, Fruits, and vegetables, if they are nearby.

Recently, Hateno Pasture has had issues with Monsters coming up from Hateno Beach to steal their Highland Sheep.[4] As part of "The Sheep Rustlers" Side Quest, Link will find two Highland Sheep held captive at the Monster Stronghold on the Beach. After the Monsters have been defeated, the Sheep will disappear. Once this is done, Koyin will notice her Sheep are calmer, and she gives Link 10 bottles of Fresh Milk as a reward.[5]
