Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Hilltop High Road is a winding path that runs from the Tabantha Tundra to Hyrule Ridge, passing through the western edge of Hyrule Field. It starts at Snowfield Stable and follows the edge of Tanagar Canyon to meet Serenne Stable. The road continues south through the Breach of Demise, along the southern side of the Seres Scablands, and ends at Tabantha Bridge Stable. From this point, the Westbound Road continues northwest.

The travelers Baddek, Nazbi, his Horse Dauntless, and Savelle all follow the entirety of the Hilltop High Road. The ingredient Merchant Yammo also wanders the route with her Donkey, and Beedle may be found along the road near Stables. Other travelers frequent a portion of the Hilltop High Road, such as Baumar, his Horse Bamboo, Ronn, and Kanny. Two of Chabi's camps can be found at along the Hilltop High Road, one being at the fork in the Hilltop High Road between the Breach of Demise and Tabantha Bridge Stable, while the other is between Rowan Plain and Irch Plain. She will be under attack by Bokoblins, and if Link saves her, she will give him Monster Extract as a reward.[2][3]

Across the Hilltop High Road from the Seres Scablands, a Sign warns travelers about bandit attacks and says they can find safety at Tabantha Bridge Stable.[4] Near this sign, Link can encounter a Traveler claiming to be lost.[5] When Link approaches them, they ask if he knows the way to the Gerudo Desert.[6] If Link says that he does, the Traveler will be relieved, since they were unsure if he would tell them.[7] Alternatively, if Link says that he does not know, the Traveler swears they saw him near the Desert in the past.[8] No matter how Link responds, the Traveler will then identify him.[9][10] They reveal that they are a Yiga Footsoldier and will proceed to attack Link.[11][12] Other Travelers also have a chance to randomly spawn along the Hilltop High Road.
