Infinity Dunes,[1] known as Dunes of Infinity in the European release, is a Level in Tri Force Heroes. It is the first Level of The Dunes Area, and is followed by Stone Corridors.

Themes and Navigation

Infinity Dunes takes place in a large desert consisting of temple ruins. The Level is densely covered in Quicksand, which the Links will sink through if they stand on it for too long. Because of this, the Dunewalker Duds, once crafted with Materials from The Dunes, becomes useful in this Level.

Stage 2

In Stage 1, the Links appear close to a small desert oasis, where two Gust Jars and a Water Rod can be found. East of the oasis is the sand-covered desert. Several Sand Mounds can be found here, which can be removed by either using the Water Rod or Gust Jar on them, which may reveal Rupees or Hearts. There are a few tiled paths provided, which the Links can safely walk on to avoid standing in and sinking in the sand. Leevers will pop out of the sand as the Links make their way across. To the north is a fast-moving river of sand. The Links can cross it either by propelling each other across using the Gust Jars or use the Water Rod to create a bridge of water pillars. The next area has Sandfish swimming in the sand, which will quickly respawn if the Links try to defeat them. At the far end are three Floor Switches: two are hidden beneath Sand Mounds, with one of those up higher on a ledge. Pressing all three creates a bridge to the cliff wall, where the Triforce Gateway is found.

In Stage 2, the Links appear in a sand-filled pit where they immediately battle Vultures, Leevers and Life Likes. To the left and right side of the arena are Beanstalks, which can be watered with the Water Rod to grow Bomb Flowers. These can then be thrown at the Life Likes to easily defeat them. Many of the Sand Mounds around the Stage contain Hearts and Red Rupees. After the Enemies are all defeated, a pair of doors open to the next Triforce Gateway.

Doors to the Triforce Gateway closing in Stage 3

In Stage 3, the Links appear in front of a tomb built into the face of a cliff, with the Triforce Gateway inside. Its two sets of doors immediately close as the Links approach it, forcing them to search for ways to open them. To the west is a Beanstalk between a group of bushes, which watering turns into a Magic Plant that will lift the Links to a ledge further up the cliff. Another Beanstalk that will grow into a Magic Plant, plus a Squiddy, several Leevers, and a Red Rupee can be found there. At the next level up the cliff, there are three main ledges heading back to the east, each with a river of sand flowing downward and a gap in between them. On the first ledge, the Links come across a Shock Switch; however, it will close up if the Links try to approach it. Across the first river and gap, on the second ledge, is a pair of Beanstalks which produce Bomb Flowers. The gap can be crossed by propelling the Links over them using the Gust Jar, or by falling down the gap and landing on a ledge halfway down the cliff, where a Beanstalk can be watered to produce another Magic Plant, taking the Links back up to the second ledge. Since the gap is too wide to throw the Bombs back over to the first ledge, one Link will have to propel a Bomb across using his own Gust Jar. The Link remaining at the first ledge can then throw it at the Shock Switch before it explodes, which opens one set of the tomb's doors.

Across the gap to the third ledge, which again requires at least one Link to be propelled across by the Gust Jar, the Links find another Shock Switch high up on the wall, just out of reach due to a river of sand flowing in front of it. If only the Link with the Water Rod crosses the gap to the third ledge, then one of the Links on the second ledge will have to propel a Bomb Flower over. The Link on the third ledge will then have to quickly create a water pillar to the Shock Switch, and grab and throw the Bomb to it before it explodes. This Switch can be activated more easily by propelling two of the Links across to the third ledge; one Link then creates a water pillar in front of the Switch, forms a Totem with the other Link, and lets him fire the Gust Jar at the Switch from atop the water pillar. This Switch opens the last set of the doors, allowing the Links to drop down and reach the Triforce Gateway. If they drop down near the river of sand, they can find some Rupees sitting on a ledge halfway down the cliff; by falling down the river of sand itself, they will land on a tiny ledge with a Treasure Chest containing a Silver Rupee.

Stage 4

In Stage 4, the Links drop into a walled enclosure filled with sand and a circle of solid tiles they can safely stand on. A Hokkubokku immediately rises from the sand after they fall in. This Enemy can be defeated either by forming a full Totem and striking its head, or by using the Water Rod to reach it. The Links can also strike the body of the Hokkubokku, but the segments will bounce around the room when struck, so this is a riskier option. After the first Hokkubokku is defeated, three more will appear. Their defeat opens the doors to the last Triforce Gateway.

Once the Boss of The Dunes has been defeated, Infinity Dunes can be replayed with the following Drablands Challenges: "Fewer Heart Containers!", "Guard the Orb!", and "Adventure in the dark!".
