Inside the Passenger Car is a location in Spirit Tracks.[1]

Features and Overview

As its name implies, Inside the Passenger Car is the interior of the Spirit Train's Passenger Car. It is where all Passengers go while using the Spirit Train. Link goes Inside the Passenger Car after Pirate attack while he is transporting Carben to the Ocean Sanctuary. There, Link must defend Carben from the waves of Pirate Miniblins and the Big Blin that board the Train by breaking through its windows.[2]

Later in the adventure, if Link rescues Wadatsumi, the man held captive at the Pirate Hideout, then Pirate Ships or Pirate Tanks will occasionally pursue the Spirit Train in an attempt to capture any Passenger aboard the Train. If they get close enough, then Link will have to head back Inside the Passenger Car to defend the Passenger in the same manner as Carben. If he fails, the Passenger will be taken prisoner to the Pirate Hideout.

After Link defeats Byrne, Anjean takes Byrne to rest Inside the Passenger Car.[3] She then tells Link and Princess Zelda about the Bow of Light, a weapon used in the battle between Malladus and the Spirits of Good that could purge the Demon King from the Princess's body.[4] After telling the duo that it rests safely in the Sand Temple,[5] and producing a Force Gem that opens the way there,[6] she remains Inside the Passenger Car.

When the duo return with the Bow of Light Inside the Passenger Car,[7] they are confronted by Byrne who informs them that the only way to find the Demon Train is with the Compass of Light,[8][9] instructing them to go beneath the altar in the Tower of Spirits to find it. Anjean then materializes the Lokomo Sword, believing Link to be the hero destined to wield it.[10]

A final scene takes place Inside the Passenger Car after the heroes have ventured into the Dark Realm and stopped the Demon Train, wherein they resolve to defeat Cole and Malladus.[11] Though Anjean wishes to accompany Zelda and Link in battle, Byrne resists, and offers to go in her stead.[12] Inspired, Zelda believes that both Lokomo should remain Inside the Passenger Car,[13][14] as Anjean materializes a Phantom body for the Princess to possess. Before departing, Zelda stops to ask Link if he has considered the path he'll take after things return to normal.[15] The player can choose to respond with either "Engineer", "Warrior", or "Dunno".
