Kagoron is a character in Spirit Tracks.[2]

Biography

Kagoron is the Mountain Goddess's messenger. He is found on the north mountain in Goron Village, praying for the nearby volcano to calm.[1]

Upon Link arriving at the Mountain Goddess's altar, Kagoron will commend the young hero for his bravery, but will also inform him that the altar is a sacred place for Gorons.[3] After Link asks him how to access the Fire Sanctuary,[4] Kagoron notices that Link is a Royal Engineer,[5] and asks the young hero to descend the mountain with him.[6] Upon returning to Goron Village, the Mountain Goddess's messenger gives Link a Freight Car to help him haul Mega Ice from the Anouki Village in order to put out the fires at Goron Village.[7] Once Link has access to Dark Ore Mine, Kagoron will send him a Letter with a map leading to a Treasure in the Mine.[8]

Nomenclature

Kagoron's name is likely a portmanteau of the Japanese word, 鍵 (Kagi), and Goron. This is reflected in his appearance, and that of his storage house containing the Freight Car, which are both covered in markings resembling keys.
