"Kaneli's Flight Training" is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Overview

Link can encounter Kaneli in the Flight Range hut, where he is searching for a volunteer.[2] He explains that after he retired as chief of Rito Village, he decided to assist Rito warriors who are training at the Flight Range.[3] While the Blizzard ended up damaging the training equipment, Kaneli decided to take it as an opportunity to create a new course.[4] The new course focuses on agility by having participants pass through Floating Rings, which Kaneli hopes will result in the warriors becoming for confident in their flight.[5] Since the course was just finished, however, no one has tried it yet, though Kaneli wishes someone will come soon.[6] At this point, "Kaneli's Flight Training" will begin.

When Link speaks to Kaneli again, he will be honored that he is volunteering to attempt Flight Training.[7] Kaneli explains that Link must pass through as many Floating Rings as he can before time runs out, and if he strays too far from the Flight Range, he will be disqualified.[8] He challenges Link to try and pass through 15 Floating Rings for his first attempt, promising a reward if he can do so.[9]

If Link agrees to start Flight Training, Kaneli will show him to his position.[10] At the start of the Mini-Game, Kaneli will count Link down.[11] The Floating Rings can be found situated around the Flight Range's central pillar. After 30 seconds have passed, Kaneli will call Link back to the hut.[12] If Link passed through at least 16 Floating Rings, Kaneli declares not only has he passed, he set a bar for the Rito to aspire to.[13] As a reward, he gives Link a Purple Rupee.[14] Kaneli also offers the Flight Training advanced course to Link, believing he needs more of a challenge.[15] He invites Link to come again, but if he does so, he will need to pay a fee.[16] Afterwards, "Kaneli's Flight Training" will be completed.

Objectives

Stage Description
1 At the Flight Range, Kaneli has set up a new training course where trainees will fly through rings floating in the sky.

Before he can open it up to trainees, he needs a brave volunteer to go for a test run on the new course.
2 You're trying Kaneli's new training course! Go through as many floating rings as you can before time runs out.

You need to go through 15 to pass, and you will be disqualified if you leave the Flight Range during training.
3
[note 1]
Attempt Kaneli's new training course. It seems you need to go through 15 rings to pass.

Kaneli says he will give you a reward if you pass with flying colors.
Complete You went through enough rings to pass Kaneli's training course. As the first to attempt the course and post a score, you've inspired young Rito to try it as well.

Kaneli says that you can come back and try flight training again whenever you like.
