Koboli is a character in The Wind Waker.[2]
Biography
Descriptions
Koboli is the mail sorter found on the upper floor of the Mail Center. He hires Link to be an assistant sorter, and becomes so impressed with Link's contribution that he hires another person, Baito, to help him.[3]
Trivia
- Koboli bears a resemblance to the Postman from Majora's Mask. His Figurine description in the Nintendo Gallery implies that the Postman is Koboli's ancestor.[1] Game designer Yoshiki Haruhana slipped in the reference towards the end of the game's development on a lark.[4]
- In the original Nintendo GameCube version of The Wind Waker, the description of Koboli's Figurine states that he was born on Windfall Island.[5] The error is specific to the English localization of the game and was fixed in The Wind Waker HD.[11][12]
Nomenclature
Koboli's Japanese name, クバリ (Kubari), comes 配り (kubari), the continuative form of the verb 配る (kubaru), which means "to deliver".

26 letters!
— Koboli (The Wind Waker HD)
You have amazing coordination! Seriously, I'm stupefied! Incredulous! We veterans do this all day long, and even we have a hard time reaching that amount! I've got to give you more money! Got to! Three Rupees per letter comes to 78 Rupees. How's that sound? Hey, your name wouldn't happen to be LinkAppears in-game as the player's chosen name., would it? It is, isn't it? Mmm-hmm. I thought you looked like the lad the chieftain was talking about. In that case, I should have expected you to be able to pull off something like this. I've heard all about you. Yes, I sure have. You've had a rough time, LinkAppears in-game as the player's chosen name.. I feel bad making you help us... But hey, things are looking up! Our new helper's just arrived. Maybe you can give him some advice the next time you come by. - ↑ "Koboli is a bit of fan service amongst the Rito tribe. Since the Rito tribe works distributing the post, I thought it would be funny to slip in the Postman from Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask, and stuck him in close to the end of the development." — Haruhana, The Developers Discuss Koboli & The Salvage Corp. , Zelda Box, published 2002, retrieved March 20, 2013.
