"Legend of the Soaring Spear" is a Shrine Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
In the Tobio's Hollow Cave, Link can find a Tattered Notebook at an abandoned campsite. It describes a legend surrounding a treasure that the Zonai hid in the Cave, which goes, "Throw the Zonai spear with a wing from the pedestal, through the ring. Should your aim be true and right, you'll be blessed with dispelling light."[2] However, the writer was unable to throw a Zonaite Spear through the Glowing Ring, and so they left the Notebook behind in the hope that the person that finds it would have better luck.[2] After reading this passage, "Legend of the Soaring Spear" will begin.
When Link stands on the pedestal inside the Tobio's Hollow Cave, a Glowing Ring will appear above the nearby spring. In order to throw a Zonaite Spear through the Ring from the pedestal, Link must Fuse a Monster Wing to its end. This will allow the Zonaite Spear to fly farther after being thrown. Once he has successfully thrown a Zonaite Spear through the Glowing Ring, the Utojis Shrine will appear inside the Cave.[3] Following this, "Legend of the Soaring Spear" will be completed.
