Leop is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[2][3]

Biography

Breath of the Wild

Leop is an older Hylian who lives in Hateno Village. He diligently stands outside The Great Ton Pu Inn, welcoming visitors and imploring them to stay.[4] He can be found at the base of the Inn's stairs at most hours of the day and night, greeting Link if he approaches.[5][6] However, Leop will retreat inside if it begins to Rain.[7][8]

According to Leop, The Great Ton Pu Inn is the best place in Hateno Village to rest.[9] He suggests travelers speak with Prima, the Inn's proprietor, if they wish to stay.[10] When spoken to again, he will encourage Link to spend some time at the Inn.[11][12]

When Link speaks to Leop while carrying the Blue Flame, he asks if Purah is unable to get around on her own anymore.[13] Realizing he has not seen Purah in some time, he wonders if the rumors he heard about her are true.[14] If Link confirms that Purah is doing well, Leop will be relieved, as the people in Hateno Village tend to get worried easily.[15] Alternatively, if Link has difficulty answering him, Leop shares the rumor that Purah's granddaughter has been visiting her, believing Link to have given it away.[16] He is unable to think of any other reason that a child would be staying at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab.[17]

Tears of the Kingdom

Leop can be seen walking through Hateno Village.

For as long as anyone can remember, we've tilled the soil and let nature be our guide in life. Now, though...everything's getting so glitzy as some folks try to drum up more tourism business. Mind you, we were all happy to see Cece return to the village after she'd been away for so long. Some folks, like my daughter Prima, started wearing that flashy Cece-brand stuff right away in celebration. But it's a tad over the top for me and my son-in-law Worten. We prefer the simple life, the way we've always lived it. But I don't mean to talk your ear off. By all means, go on and have yourself a peaceful stay here." — Leop (Tears of the Kingdom)
