Letty is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]
Biography
Breath of the Wild
Letty is a Hylian who travels the Faron Highroad between Lakeside Stable and Lurelin Village. She carries a Hunter's Shield and a Traveler's Sword. During her journey, she rests at the table inside Lakeside Stable and at the Fishing Resort.
Letty has been known to suffer from mood swings, which has led others to describe her as "temperamental".[3][4] When Link speaks to her, she may greet him differently depending on her mood.[5][6] She also has difficulty discerning and managing her emotions.[7][8][9] If she notices that she is treating Link poorly, she will become embarrassed and apologize.[10]
As she travels, Letty shows an interest in Lover's Pond.[11] She has heard that it is south of their location in Atun Valley, recalling that she saw it on a Map once.[12][13] Though she is surprised that it is shaped like a heart, she does not know what else she would have expected.[14] Letty has considered visiting Lover's Pond to find a life partner.[15][16]
Aside from Lover's Pond, Letty will tell Link about other geographical features. While she is in Lurelin Village, she shares that he can take a Raft from their current location to Eventide Island.[17] She has also heard of the Palmorae Ruins near Lurelin Village, but she does not know much about them.[18][19] She suggests he check out Highland Stable, west of Lakeside Stable, but she warns him that he is likely to encounter Monsters on his way there.[20][21]
Letty will often talk about Food to Link. Her reason for visiting Lurelin Village is to try the Fish and fruit there, which she has heard are delicious.[22][23] Due to how fatty the Fish are, she believes that grilling them would enhance their flavor.[24][25] She also informs Link that, while meat dishes can recover Hearts, Fish dishes can grant special effects to those that eat them.[26][27] Finally, she asks Link if he has has success at Cooking with Fish and fruit, or if he has ended up with Dubious Food.[28][29]
If she encounters any foes during her travels, Letty will draw her Traveler's Sword to protect herself.[30][31][32] When Link saves her, she may remarks that she thought she was a goner.[33] She can also comment on her bad luck.[34] As a reward, she will give Link Rupees.[35]
Tears of the Kingdom
Alongside Totsuna, Letty is visiting Kakariko Village to see the Ring Ruins.
Trivia
- Letty is one of several characters that will hit Link back if he attacks them with a Weapon.[36][37][38] These attacks deal no damage.
Nomenclature
Letty is a nickname for the name "Lettice."[39]
