Mane are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Manes are cosmetic changes that Link can make to his Horses. There are a total of 10 different Manes that can be styled.

Link can use the Mane-Restyling Service at certain Stables. He must bring the Horse to the worker feeding the Horses to the side, who will ask if he is interested in changing his Horse's Mane or Horse Gear.[3][4] Manes can only be changed if Link has a high bond with his Horse,[5] otherwise the worker will refuse to help.[6]

Manes can be changed at the following Stables:

Stable Character
Highland Stable Phanna
Outskirt Stable Canni
South Akkala Stable Tenne
Woodland Stable Breen

By default, Horses will have the Normal Mane. The Manes of Epona and the Giant Horse are unable to be switched from the Normal Mane.[7][8]

List of Manes

Tears of the Kingdom

Manes reappear in Tears of the Kingdom. After obtaining 16 Pony Points, Link is able to make use of Stables' Mane-Restyling Service, which allows him to change a Horse's Mane.[2][9] Unlike in Breath of the Wild, this can be done at most Stable, with the only exception being Mini Stables. Epona, the Giant Horse, and the Giant White Stallion are unable to have their Manes altered.[10][11]
