Features and Overview

Marin and Tarin's House is located in the center of Mabe Village. As the name suggests, it is where Marin and Tarin live together.[4]

When Link washes up on Koholint Island, Marin brings him back inside the House to rest in her Bed.[5] Before being able to leave, Link has to talk to Tarin and get his Shield back.[6] Before Link finds his Sword on Toronbo Shores, both Marin and Tarin stay inside the House. After it is found, Marin moves outside to sing the "Ballad of the Wind Fish" out by the Weathercock and Tarin goes to the Mysterious Forest to look for Toadstools.[7] Once Tarin is turned back into a Human, he returns to sleep in the House.[8]

The exterior of the House features stone walls, a blue tiled roof with pink flowers, a single entrance, and two windows, the left one being adorned with a yellow flower on its windowsill. Around the House is a fenced-off area covered in Grass and a Tree in the northeast corner. A Cucco can be seen strolling in that fenced area. The interior contains two Pots, two Beds on a red carpet, and a potted Palm Tree. There is a stand for a Goomba Figure on a desk alongside multiple framed pictures: the Wind Fish's Egg atop Mt. Tamaranch, Marin alone, and Marin and Tarin together.[9] A Piranha Plant Figure stand sits on the floor at the base of Tarin's Bed.[10] In the top-right corner of the House, there is a small kitchen counter on which there is a basket full of Mushrooms, what appears to be some eggs, a cutting board and some utensils. Near the kitchen area is a dining area with a table on which is a teaset. There is also a wardrobe, for which Tarin scolds Link if he catches him trying to open it,[11] causing Marin to put a hand over her mouth in shock. While Tarin is absent or sleeping, Link can simply check the dresser without obstruction.[12] On top of that dresser is a potted Hibiscus. Some light can be seen passing through the wooden boards that make up the wall.
