Mellie's Plum Garden is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Mellie's Plum Garden is located in Kakariko Village. It is located just east of Steen's Swift Carrot farm, down the slight decline. It houses a total of nine plum Trees.

The plum Trees in Mellie's Plum Garden were all planted by Impa on the day Mellie was born, despite the fact that it was Raining.[3][4] The Garden is considered to be an heirloom of Kakariko Village, and Impa gifted it to Mellie to take care of.[5] As such, Mellie has tended to Trees all her life and considers them an extension of herself, and she forbids trespassers from entering.[1][6]

If Link enters Mellie's Plum Garden while she is present, she will yell at him to stop.[6] On subsequent entries, she reminds him that he is not allowed in her Garden, claiming that something could happen to her if he continues to trespass.[7] When only a few Trees have been destroyed, Mellie notices that there are not as many as there were before, but she believes she could be imagining things.[8] Should all of Mellie's plum Trees get destroyed, Mellie will be horrified, stating that her life has lost its meaning.[9] When her Trees are destroyed during Rain, Mellie remarks that it is fitting her life would end while it is Raining, since the same Weather was present on the day of her birth.[4]

During the "Flown the Coop" Side Quest, one of Cado's Cuccos can be found in Mellie's Plum Garden. To retrieve it, Link must wait until Mellie leaves the Garden at night. At this time, he will be able to enter without being yelled at.
