Mikau Lake is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Mikau Lake is a part of the Lanayru Great Spring. It is a two-tiered lake that is bisected by a large Waterfall, located on a ridge to the west of Lulu Lake. It is considered by the Zora to be a shortcut to the top of Ploymus Mountain, and Link can Swim up its Waterfall while wearing the Zora Armor.[3] Before Divine Beast Vah Ruta is calmed, it will be constantly Raining at Mikau Lake.[4]

100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, Mipha faced part of her Divine Beast Tamer's Trial to become a Champion at Mikau Lake, which involved Swimming through the Glowing Ring on its Waterfalls.[5] During the Main Quest "EX Champion Mipha's Song", which is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad Downloadable Content Pack, Link is tasked with repeating this Trial for himself.[6]

A Wooden Chest containing an Opal can be found floating in the Water of Mikau Lake. In Master Mode, two platforms held in the air by Sky Octoroks appear above Mikau Lake. The one floating over the lower level bears a Metal Chest containing a Soldier's Bow. The higher platform also has another Metal Chest, though this one has a Windcleaver inside.

  3. OK, Link. Let's get moving. The fastest way to Ploymus Mountain is to ascend the waterfall east of the domain! That Zora armor should come in handy. Just swim to the waterfall basin, and then go up the waterfall from there! I'll wait at East Reservoir Lake, right by the Divine Beast.
