Mimo is a character in Breath of the Wild.[2]

Biography

Mimo is a Rito who can be found on top of Koholit Rock on Eventide Island. He does not appear until the "Stranded on Eventide" Shrine Quest and Korgu Chideh Shrine have been completed.[3] Mimo operates the Paraglider Course Mini-Game.

When Link first approaches him, Mimo asks what he is doing so high up.[4] If Link answers that he is seeking adventure, Mimo reasons he must be drawn to heights.[5] Mimo claims that this is something they have in common, since Koholit Rock is the only place where he can hear the Wind.[6] Alternatively, if Link responds that he is in search of treasure, Mimo tells him that the only object in their vicinity is the Ancient Shrine.[7] Mimo then explains that he came to Eventide Island to find freedom.[8]

Mimo wants to live free and unrestricted as the Wind does, and he asks Link if he wants to live the same way.[9] If Link responds that he does, Mimo starts to feel a connection with him.[10] While Link must use his Paraglider to fly, Mimo believes he is still capable of undergoing his Paraglider Course.[11]

If Link asks about the training, Mimo explains that he wants to find the freedom of the Wind by copying its movements.[12] To achieve this, he has created the Paraglider Course, which involves flying through Rings that are suspended in the air.[13] Mimo promises that Link will be enriched if he undertakes this training.[14]

When Link seems unsure about participating, Mimo asks to be left alone so he can hear the Wind's voice.[15] However, if Link decides to attempt the Paraglider Course, Mimo will be happy.[16] To set up the Paraglider Course, Mimo requires a payment of 20 Rupees.[17] Once paid, Mimo tells Link to wait on Koholit Rock while he makes his preparations.[18]

On his return, Mimo apologizes for taking so long, but he informs Link that the Paraglider Course is ready for Link to fly through.[19] Mimo recommends that Link start out with the route to their left, as the Wind is calmer in that location.[20] However, he claims the Wind will welcome Link regardless of what direction he takes.[21] After this, the Mini-Game will begin.

Once Link either lands on the ground or flies through all of the Rings, Mimo will come and retrieve him.[22] If Link passed through less than 20 Rings, Mimo admits that he may have overestimate Link's skills, but he thinks practice could help him improve.[23] After reaching between 20 and 24 Rings, Mimo states that Link is not yet one with the Wind, but he still gives him a Red Rupee as a reward.[24] If Link passes through 24 to 29 Rings, Mimo claims that he handles his Paraglider well, giving him a Purple Rupee.[25] When Link flies through between 30 and 49 Rings, Mimo states that even a Rito could not have scored so well, and he gives him a Silver Rupee as a reward.[26] Finally, if Link passes through at least 50 Rings, Mimo suggests he may be a Rito in disguise, and he rewards him with a Gold Rupee.[27]

After Link finishes the Paraglider Course, Mimo asks if he wants to try another round.[28] If Link agrees, Mimo reminds Link before he leaves that he will be there to pick him up if he gets tired.[29] If Link refuses, Mimo access him of being like a Cucco, but he still looks forwards to seeing Link again.[30] When Link returns to Mimo, he recognizes him and asks if he is interested in training.[31]
