The Mogg Latan Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Synced Swing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.

Entrance to the Shrine

Mogg Latan Shrine is located near the peak of Satori Mountain. As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Mogg Latan.[2]

Themes and Navigation

Mogg Latan Shrine features several isolated platforms that are suspended over a bottomless gap. At the entrance to the Ancient Shrine is a metallic Swinging Platform, which is constantly moving back and forth. This Platform connects the platform that the Elevator Platform drops Link on and the second platform nearby. When Link rides the Swinging Platform, he will be able to jump onto the second platform.

Another Swinging Platform is located between the second platform and the third platform. However, this Platform does not move. Using the Magnesis Rune, Link can lift the Platform towards himself, giving it the inertia to move back and forth. He can then ride it to the next structure.

The third and fourth platforms can be connected by a stone bridge. However, the end of this bridge that connects to the third platform is suspended in the air by ropes. Link must shoot the ropes with Arrows, which will cause the bridge to fall. He can then cross onto the fourth platform.

To the left side of the fourth platform are several Spiked Iron Balls, which are suspended in the air by chains and block the path forward. With Magnesis, Link can move the Spiked Iron Balls, but he must avoid touching them. Stasis can be used to freeze one of the Spiked Iron Balls in time.

Past the Spiked Iron Balls, Link will find a slanted rail with a metallic platform connected to it. Using Magnesis, Link can drag the platform towards himself, at which point he can ride it as it falls back into its original place. At the end of the rail are several more metallic platforms, all of which are connected to horizontal rails. By configuring them into a staircase with Magnesis, Link will be able to climb up onto the final platform.

At the top of the staircase is a Crystal and a pair of metal doors, the latter of which is blocked by a wooden slab and covered in leaves. When the Crystal is hit, two lanterns will fall from the ceiling nearby. By moving one of the lanterns with Magnesis, freezing it with Stasis while it is moving towards the leaves, and then breaking the rope, Link can light the leaves on Fire. This Fire will spread to the wooden slab, freeing the metal doors. Alternatively, Link can shoot the leaves with a Fire Arrow, attack them with a Fire-based Weapon, or create a spark by striking a piece of Flint nearby, all of which will have the same result.

Using Magnesis to push the metal doors open will reveal the Monk's Pedestal. When Link approaches Mogg Latan, the Monk will commend him for completing the Trial and gives him a Spirit Orb as a reward.[3] After this, Mogg Latan wishes Link well and fades away.[4]

On the right side of the fourth platform, Link can find a stone Treasure Chest. When it is opened, he will find a Forest Dweller's Spear. Another Chest can be found behind the last Spiked Iron Ball, which is not necessary to pass. It contains a Forest Dweller's Bow. The final Treasure Chest is located behind the metallic platforms that can be made into a staircase. If Link opens it, he will receive a Gold Rupee.
