Monster Stews are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2]
Location and Uses
Breath of the Wild
Monster Stews can be made by Cooking any Meat, any seafood, and Monster Extract together in a Cooking Pot. Their default version can be made either by using seafood without status effects, such as Hyrule Basses or Sanke Carps, or by using seafood with contradictory effects. The Monster Extract used in this recipe causes the amount of Hearts healed to Link's Life Gauge to be random each time it's made. The same principle applies to the strength and duration of any status effects. These stews are known to be savory, despite the ingredients used.[1]
By using certain types of seafood or adding more ingredients, Link can create several variations of Monster Stew:
- Hearty Monster Stew:[3] Made by using Hearty Bass, Hearty Salmons, Hearty Blueshell Snails, or other hearty ingredients. These stews heal all of Link's Hearts and grant him temporary Hearts when eaten.[3]
- Energizing Monster Stew:[4] Made by using Staminoka Basses, Bright-Eyed Crabs, or other energizing ingredients. Eating them will refill a part of Link's Stamina Wheel.[4]
- Enduring Monster Stew:[5] Made by using enduring ingredients. When eaten, they will completely restore and overfill Link's Stamina Wheel.[5]
- Hasty Monster Stew:[6] Made by using hasty ingredients. Link can eat these stews to receive an increased movement speed.[6]
- Spicy Monster Stew:[7] Made by using Sizzlefin Trouts or other spicy ingredients. They can be eaten to grant Link one level of Cold Resistance.[7]
- Electro Monster Stew:[8] Made by using Voltfin Trout or other electric ingredients. Eating these stews will grant Link one level of Shock Resistance.[8]
- Mighty Monster Stew:[9] Made by using Mighty Carps, Mighty Porgies, Razorclaw Crabs, or other mighty ingredients. Link will gain a boost to his attack power if he eats them.[9]
- Tough Monster Stew:[10] Made by using Armored Carps, Armored Porgies, Ironshell Crabs, or other tough ingredients. Consuming these stews will increase Link's defense.[10]
- Sneaky Monster Stew:[11] Made by using Stealthfin Trouts, Sneaky River Snails, or other sneaky ingredients. By eating them, Link's Stealth will be increased.[11]
- Chilly Monster Stew:[12] Made by using Chillfin Trouts or other chilly ingredients. When eaten, these stews will grant Link one level of Heat Resistance.[12]

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
The recipe for Monster Stew is earned by completing the Quest "Mystery Meal for the Merchant". It is made using six Raw Gourmet Meats, six Razorclaw Crabs, and six Monster Extracts. However, it can be lowered to four of each ingredient through the completion of "Hungry Hunches". When prepared before a Challenge or Scenario, the Warriors will have 50% less total Hearts and a 15% boost to all other stats.
