Morale is a mechanic in Hyrule Warriors.[1] It affects the Morale Level for Forces during battle.

Overview

Certain actions and scripted events in Battles will trigger either a boost or a loss in Morale towards Forces, either increasing or decreasing their attack power and defensive capabilities.[2]

Gaining high Morale is sometimes triggered by encouragement from a Forces' general or the domination of the battlefield, while low Morale can be caused by Allied generals fleeing the battlefield, Keeps being lost or enemy generals taunting them. Troops with a high Morale will gain a glowing border on their model, mirroring the color marker of their Force, while troops with low Morale will have a dampened and grey toned glow.

In certain Battles, such as in the Scenario "The Water Temple", enemy Morale can be lowered by surprising them by descending upon their troops from a higher position. The loss of powerful troops can also negatively affect Morale.
