The Mural in the Underground Shelter is an Object in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]

Location and Uses

The Mural in the Underground Shelter is located within the Gerudo Shelter beneath Gerudo Town. It was painted in the ancient past, during a time in which the Gerudo needed to hide underground to avoid a disaster.[2]

During the "Riju of Gerudo Town" Main Quest, Riju is reminded of the Mural in the Underground Shelter when she thinks back on the voice that has been calling out to her, and she asks Link to view it with her.[1] Once there, she translates the Mural's writing for him, which states that by connecting Red Pillars in the Gerudo Desert, they will be able to find the source of the voice.[3] Riju believes that their goal is to reach the location depicted on the Mural.[4]

  2. Oh, Link. You came. Look at the mural on this wall. It is thought to have been painted by ancestors of the Gerudo. It appears that when they created it, they were also using this shelter to hide. Perhaps the Gerudo of the distant past were also beset by some great disaster. — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  3. Anyway, the writing on the mural says... "Standing back-to-back with the throne, witness red pillars across a vast sea. "Unite the pillars in light to reveal the lightning stone and open the way. "You who can hear my voice, come to me. I await you." — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
  4. That mysterious voice that spoke to us... Its words reminded me of this mural. This image must represent a location of some kind, and the engraved words are a riddle to discovering its location. It's the only explanation that makes sense. — Riju (Tears of the Kingdom)
