Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

The Northern Icehouse is an underground Ice depository north of Gerudo Town, which is used to store Ice brought to the Gerudo Desert from the Gerudo Highlands.^[3] The Ice is then used to make the drinks at The Noble Canteen in Town, including their famous Noble Pursuit.^[4]^[5] The House is managed by a Gerudo soldier named Anche.^[6] Since Anche goes to sleep early, Ice can only be taken from the Icehouse during the day.^[7]^[8]

As part of "The Perfect Drink" Side Quest, Link offers to retrieve Ice from the Northern Icehouse for Furosa, the proprietor of The Noble Canteen.^[9] Once Link reveals that he is at the Icehouse on Furosa's behalf, Anche allows him to take a block of Ice, though she warns him to be careful of the Gerudo Desert's Heat.^[10] Should Link allow the Ice to melt, Anche will allow him to take another block.^[11]

After the Side Quest is completed, Link will be able to partake in the Carry the Ice! Mini-Game at the Northern Icehouse. When Link speaks to Anche, she asks if he is willing to deliver Ice to Furosa again.^[12] She claims that she is unable to leave the Icehouse due to the amount of Monsters in the area, promising that Furosa will reimburse him for his work.^[13] Link must also pay 50 Rupees in order to take the Ice.^[14] At the end of the ruins between the Northern Icehouse and Gerudo Town, Furosa will reward Link with either a Silver Rupee or a Gold Rupee.^[15]^[16]

If Link attempts to melt a formation of Ice inside the Northern Icehouse or if she detects any Fire inside the Icehouse, Anche will scold him for damaging her supply of Ice before kicking him out.^[17]
