Features and Overview

Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch

The interior of Old Man Ulrira's House

Old Man Ulrira's House is located in the south-western part of Mabe Village. It is the residence of Old Man Ulrira and his wife Grandma Yahoo.

The exterior of the House is made of stone and features a brick chimney, a worn down purple tiled roof,[note 1] a central wooden arch entrance and two windows. White flowers can be seen growing near the chimney and a potted plant sits on one of the windowsills. The House is surrounded by a stone Wall inside of which is some tall Grass. Additionally, in the front of the House, there is a small path that does not connect to the rest of the Houses of Mabe Village. Grandma Yahoo can be seen sweeping it with her Broom before she leaves for Animal Village.

Inside the House are several potted plants, a dresser, a fireplace on which sits a cauldron of Soup, two Beds, knitting needles and balls, a picture of the Wind Fish's Egg, a Telephone, a Book, two Tables, two benches and two Pots.[note 2] In Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, there is also two Figure stands, one for the Blooper Figure, and the other for the Cheep Cheep Figure.

If Link makes a call from the Telephone inside Old Man Ulrira's House, it dials the number of someone calling himself the Bucket Mouse.[3] After he hangs up, a message appears saying that Link must have dialed the wrong number.[4]
