"Piaffe, Packed Away" is a Side Quest in Tears of the Kingdom.[1]
Overview
At the Gerudo Canyon Stable, Link will find Piaffe surrounded by Wooden Box, wondering if he is ever going to be able to clean them all up.[2] When Link approaches Piaffe, he reveals that the Stable has been closed due to a lack of visitors and Zelda's order to stay away from the Gerudo Canyon Well.[3] Although she promised to return to fix the Well's problem, she has yet to do so.[4] If "The Blocked Well" Side Adventure is not yet completed, Piaffe apologizes for letting his sadness get to him, and he recommends going to Kara Kara Bazaar if Link needs a place to rest.[5]
If Link has already completed "The Blocked Well", he can inform Piaffe that Zelda was trying to prevent Monsters from attacking Gerudo Canyon Stable, Piaffe will be shocked.[6] He recalls that Monster sightings in the area increased after the Gerudo Canyon Well was built, only ceasing after it was sealed, but he was too busy cleaning out the Stable to notice.[7] He thanks Link for looking into it, resolving to thank Zelda the next time he sees her.[8] At the end of either scenario, Piaffe decides to return to cleaning out the Stable, even though he is unsure how to deal with the scale of his mess.[9] Afterwards, "Piaffe, Packed Away" will begin.
When Link breaks all of the Wooden Boxes in Gerudo Canyon Stable, Piaffe will be shocked that they are all gone.[10] Thanking Link, he admits that he was responsible for letting the Box pile up until the entrance was blocked.[11] While he is eager to leave, Piaffe asks Link if he wants to be the Stable's final customer.[12] He welcomes Link to the Stable, giving him a single Pony Point to commemorate being the last customer.[13] Having completed his time as a Stable owner, Piaffe wishes Link will on his travels.[14] He then decides to finish cleaning out Gerudo Canyon Stable, once again thanking Link for his assistance.[15]
Noticing the Empty Frames, Piaffe reveals that they were sent by the Stable Association.[16] He removes their wrapping,[17] claiming that they appear to be nicer than he predicted.[18] He remarks that having art on the Stable's walls may make its final days seem less lonely.[19] Afterwards, "Piaffe, Packed Away" will be completed.
Objectives
Stage | Description |
---|---|
1 | Gerudo Canyon Stable is being shut down after the abnormal weather dried up their supply of customers. Unfortunately for Piaffe, the building is packed full of rubbish and he can't bring himself to clean it all up. It's a tough situation to be in when he's supposed to dispose of it all. |
2[a] | Piaffe offered you a Pony Point as thanks for helping clean up the stable. However, because Gerudo Canyon Stable is officially shut down, you'll need to register as a stable member somewhere else. |
Complete | You tidied the clutter filling up the stable. Now Gerudo Canyon Stable can finally close its doors once and for all. Piaffe was appreciative, but he also seemed a little sad... |
- ↑ Only triggered if Link has not registered with the Stable Association.

Will I ever clean all this up?
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Oh! Um... G-good job making it in here. I mean, it's impressive that you came all this way, but the stable has closed its doors for good. Thanks to this extreme weather, almost no one rides through here. We get very few visitors of any sort. Making things worse, Princess Zelda gave the order that everyone had to stay away from our well. But we need that water, not to mention the mushrooms that grow inside it...
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
"It's only temporary—it'll help," she said. "I'll be right back to fix it," she said. And then she completely abandoned us...
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Oh, sorry about that. The sadness just gets to me sometimes... Anyway, if you're looking for a place to rest... I recommend Kara Kara Bazaar! Just head out of here, turn west, keep going for a whiiile, and there you'll find it. It's a bit of a hike, but if you can find some transportation at the desert's entrance, you can get there in no time.
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Y-you're saying Princess Zelda sealed the well to keep monsters from coming out of it? To save the stable?! I'm ashamed of myself for even imagining that she would abandon us. She really did have our best interests at heart.
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Come to think of it, we did have a surge of monster sightings after building the well that only ended once it was sealed off... But I was so busy cleaning out the stable, I never even considered that they might be connected.
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Thank you for looking into it for me. Next time I see Princess Zelda, I'll be sure to thank her too!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
As for me, I've got a mountain of junk to clear out, so I'll get back to it. Can't leave a mess when I close things down. But just how am I going to deal with all this stuff?
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Sorry, but I need to focus on cleaning this place up for now... Whoa, huh? All that junk is just...gone? I wasn't sure what you were up to, truth be told, but clearly it was all part of masterfully removing that junk!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
You saved me! Thank you! I sort of let the junk pile build and build until it blocked the entrance, which was a real problem.
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
There's still some work to be done, but thanks to you, I can get out of this place. That said, given that I'm wearing the uniform and this stable's still standing... would you be my final customer?
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
OK! Welcome to Gerudo Canyon Stable! You, sir, have the honor of being the very last guest this stable will ever have! And that, dear customer, deserves commemoration... In the form of one Pony Point!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Well, that appears to be the end of my time as a stablehand. It's been a pleasure, sir, and I sincerely hope your journey ahead is a fruitful one!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Now then, I still have a little more junk to clear away, so I better get back to it. Thank you again for all your help!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Hm? Oh, I forgot about those! The stable association sent us those frames a while back. They just sorta got buried under all the junk.
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Let me just take off that wrapping...
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
They're even nicer than I thought!
— Piaffe (Tears of the Kingdom) - ↑
Maybe a little art on the walls would be nice, just so the stable's final days don't have to be so lonely...
