Mamamu Yan
Mamamu Yan,(MMMajora's Mask | OoAOracle of Ages)[2] also known as the Pooch Lady,(OoTOcarina of Time)[3] is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series.[name references needed]
Biography
Ocarina of Time
The Mamamu Yan is a very ugly woman in Hyrule Castle Town who has lost her Dog, Richard.[4][5] If Link returns the correct Dog, she will reward him with a Piece of Heart.[6] Arrogantly, she seems to think Richard is above all the other Dogs in Hyrule Castle Town.[7][8] Mamamu Yan is one of the survivors who flee to Kakariko Village after Hyrule Castle Town was destroyed during Link's absence. She is housed by the same woman who lodges Talon when he is driven away from Lon Lon Ranch.
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, Mamamu Yan owns the Doggy Racetrack south of Romani Ranch, which is open from 6 AM to 8 PM.[9] Here, Link can place a bet on the winning Dog in a race. If the Dog he chooses places first, he will win triple his bet. If the Dog places second, he will win double the bet. For third to fifth places, he will break even. Any place lower wins nothing, and Link loses the money he bet.[10] If Link wins over 150 Rupees at the Doggy Racetrack, Mamamu Yan will also give him a Piece of Heart.[11]
Oracle of Ages
Mamamu Yan lives in her House in Lynna City. She is part of the Trading Sequence, giving Link the Dumbbell in return for the Doggie Mask.[12]
In a Linked Game, Mamamu Yan's mother will appear in Spool Swamp in western Holodrum in Oracle of Seasons.[13] She will ask Link to tell a secret to her daughter in Labrynna.[14] After telling the secret password to Mamamu Yan, she will ask Link to help her find her lost Dog.[15] After returning the Dog, which can be found roaming Lynna City, Mamamu Yan will reward Link with a Magical Ring, which becomes the Snowshoe Ring once appraised by Vasu.[16]
