Features and Overview
Breath of the Wild
The Popla Foothills South Well can be found between the Popla Foothills and the Farosh Hills in West Necluda. Prior to the Great Calamity 100 years ago, it was part of an unnamed Hylian settlement.[2]
Tears of the Kingdom
The Popla Foothills South Well returns in Tears of the Kingdom, and it is still part of West Necluda.[3] Link is now able to access its interior, which features two chambers. The first contains a pool of Water and a small archway that leads to the second chamber. The second chamber contains dry land, as well as a Note on the Table written by Aurie Taamu.[4] It details the use of "bright" ingredients in Cooking, such as Brightcaps or Glowing Cave Fish.[4] Inside is also a Cooking Pot, although the Campfire beneath it is unlit by default.

The road of a gourmand is fraught with thorns. It's why I choose to travel alone.
— Note on the Table (Tears of the Kingdom)
But this life does have its share of lonely nights. That's when you need to shine a light to keep the darkness at bay.
These newly discovered "bright" ingredients have the strange effect of making the body glow.
I recently discovered that the intensity of the light changes depending on the material you use.
For instance, when I ate a dish cooked with a glowing cave fish, I produced more light than I did after my brightcap dish.
I wonder if the effect is more powerful the harder the ingredient is to collect...
Or could the quantity of each material play a part somehow? I clearly have more experimenting to do.
There is no shame in not knowing, for beyond that lies the joy of knowing.
Tonight I am the candlelight.
