Description
The ruler of the Gibdos and the culprit behind the sand shroud that plagued the Gerudo region, the Queen Gibdo is an agile beast who built a nest in the desert to spawn her drones en masse. Her tough exoskeleton deflects ordinary weapons.
Common Locations
Lightning Temple

Queen Gibdo is a massive, grotesque Gibdo who caused their infestation of the Gerudo Desert.[4] Her wings are powerful enough to allow her to fly despite her large size. Unlike the Gibdos that she commands, she possesses eight limbs, typically using the first two pairs as arms while walking on the other four.

One Queen Gibdo is responsible for the Sand Shroud affecting the Gerudo Region.[3][4] After this Queen Gibdo is defeated in the Lightning Temple, three Queen Gibdos can be found in Boss Rematches throughout the Depths. One is located northwest of the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm in the Gerudo Highlands Depths, one is near the Korakut Lightroot in the Lanayru Wetlands Depths, and the final one is east of the Kawakarut Lightroot in the Gerudo Highlands Depths. If Queen Gibdo is not defeated in the Lightning Temple, Link fights her in Gloom's Origin during the War in the Depths of Hyrule. She appears after Mucktorok and before the Seized Construct.

When defeated in the Depths, Queen Gibdos drop Queen Gibdo Wings. Defeating them unlocks a Treasure Chest containing a Huge Crystallized Charge.

Queen Gibdo is fought twice, once outside the Lightning Temple and a second time within it. During the first battle, she will retreat when she has lost a quarter of her health.

Queen Gibdo rapidly scuttles around the battlefield, trying to charge at Link or spit a stream of sand at him. Her attacks can be predicted by watching for her antennae to change color. She cannot be harmed unless Link uses Riju's Power of Lightning to hit her with a lightning strike, which will make her turn pale and become vulnerable in the same manner as other Gibdos.[6] Doing so will also cause her to alter her attack patterns; she will generate sand tornadoes to attack at long range and conjure sandstorms to hamper Link's vision until she can recover. She will try to keep her distance from Link as best as she can despite her reduced speed in this state, but a second lightning strike will stun her and allow Link to attack with impunity until she recovers.

At half health, Queen Gibdo activates four Gibdo Hives in the corners of the battlefield. These will generate an endless swarm of Gibdos and Moth Gibdos to assist Queen Gibdo as long as they remain intact, potentially causing Link to be overwhelmed by their sheer numbers. However, destroying the Hives will allow light to shine onto the battlefield, which will damage and eventually kill Gibdos that are exposed to it. Queen Gibdo herself will also generate more sand tornadoes while in her vulnerable state and will start flying around the battlefield in order to avoid Riju's lightning; while flying, she will also attack with an aerial sand stream that will try to track Link's movements.
