Description
This deposit contains a good deal of precious ore and the occasional rare mineral, like ruby and sapphire. Break it open to see what it has to offer!
Common Locations
Greater Hyrule
Recoverable Materials
Ruby Sapphire Diamond Amber Topaz Flint

Rare Ore Deposits can be found all around Hyrule, typically with clusters of regular Ore Deposits. They can be broken by hitting them with a Weapon or by blowing them up with a Remote Bomb. Whether broken or not, hitting them with a non-wooden weapon or an arrow generates sparks that can start fires. When they break, Gems can drop, as well as Flint and Rock Salt. Rare Gems such as Topazes, Rubies, Sapphires, and Diamonds drop from Rare Ore Deposits at a higher rate than they do with Ore Deposits.[3]

If Rare Ore Deposits are destroyed, they won't appear again until after the next Blood Moon. This can make rare Ores difficult to gather in large numbers.

Stone Taluses (Rare) have Rare Ore Deposits on their bodies.[4] These deposits are their weak spots, and attacking them will deal a high amount of damage to the Talus and cause it to fall over.

Tears of the Kingdom

A single Bokoblin can be seen mining a Rare Ore Deposit in an unnamed underground location.
