Ricky's Gloves
Ricky's Gloves are a recurring item in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2] Ricky's Gloves are a set of boxing gloves belonging to the Kangaroo Ricky. After finding them in either of the games, Ricky would let Link ride in his pouch while he hopped over small gaps and cliffs.[3] Ricky could also punch enemies with his gloves, and even release a small whirlwind when the punch was charged up.[4]
Location and Uses
Oracle of Seasons
In Oracle of Seasons, Ricky lost his gloves to the Boxing Champion Blaino when he lost a boxing match against him.[5] Link challenges Blaino to a match at his gym in North Horon for 10 Rupees,[6] in order to win back Ricky's Gloves. No Magic Rings or items were allowed during the fight.[7] The point was to knock Blaino out of the ring while punching.[8] After winning, Link gets the gloves to give to Ricky (they can't be used by Link). Once Link gives Ricky his gloves, he'll befriend him and allow him to ride in his pouch. If Link has not already obtained Dimitri or Moosh's Flute, Ricky will give Link his Flute, which allows him to summon Ricky whenever he is needed.[9]
Oracle of Ages
In Oracle of Ages, Ricky's Gloves were found buried near a tree on a beach south of Lynna City. After digging them up with the Shovel and returning them to Ricky, he would agree to help Link reach Tingle to receive the Island Chart.[10]
