Descriptions
Medoh's Perch
This stone pillar towers overheard in the center of the village. It occurred to me that it may be Medoh's perch...and a frightful image sprang to mind, one of the pillar crumbling beneath the weight of Medoh. However, this Divine Beast is far lighter than it appears as compared to the others. My concerns, ultimately, are unfounded.
Soaring Village
The winged inhabitants of this land call Rito Village their home. The wind currents facilitate upward mobility throughout its vertical design, allowing the Rito to fly from one area to another with ease. Additionally, platforms were originally constructed to connect the areas for other peoples, but it seems even the Rito are using them more and more.
Masterful Performance
It tends to be their fabrics that garner attention, but the Rito have the best woodworking techniques in Hyrule, as well. From their serving dishes to their structures, even the very framework of their village, the Rito have made everything from wood. I'm told the way they transport lumber midair is quite the sight, and I'd love to see it someday.
Rito Village is a settlement located on an island at the center of Lake Totori on the Tabantha Frontier. The Village was built around a giant stone pillar, with a vertical construction that is suited to the Rito's ability to fly.[5] A small grove of Cedar Trees can be found below the Village proper. Several bridges also connect Rito Village to Rito Stable nearby. Kaneli, who is knowledgeable about the history of the Champions, is the current chieftain.[6] Due to the isolation imposed on Hebra by the Tanagar Canyon, very few travelers visit Rito Village.[5]
Before to the Great Calamity 100 years ago, Zelda visited Rito Village twice to ask Revali to become a Champion, due to Revali delaying in giving her a response.[7] After Link was appointed as her knight, she once again traveled to Rito Village on official business, resulting in the events of the "Revali's Flap" Recovered Memory.[8] When Calamity Ganon returned, the only known casualty from Rito Village was Revali.[9] To honor both their Champion and the other lives lost on the day of the Calamity, the Rito named one of their flight platforms Revali's Landing.[10]
Prior to Link awakening from his Slumber of Restoration, Divine Beast Vah Medoh was reactivated, at which point it began circling the Village and shooting at the Rito.[9] Wishing to protect their home, Teba and Harth attempted to face the Divine Beast, which resulted in Harth getting injured.[11] When Link arrives in Rito Village, Teba will be absent, with Kaneli believing he is preparing for another attack on Vah Medoh.[12] As part of the "Divine Beast Vah Medoh" Main Quest, Kaneli asks Link to help Teba.[13] Once Divine Beast Vah Medoh has been calmed, Revali will be able to guide it so it perches on top of the Village's spire, where it takes aim at Hyrule Castle.[14] As a reward for saving Rito Village, Kaneli will allow Link to take the Great Eagle Bow, which is located in a Treasure Chest nearby.[15]
"The Bird in the Mountains" Shrine Quest, "The Spark of Romance" Side Quest, and "The Apple of My Eye" Side Quest can all be obtained at Rito Village. Additionally, after Divine Beast Vah Medoh is appeased, the Side Quest "Find Kheel" Side Quest and the Shrine Quest "The Ancient Rito Song" will become available.

Age of Calamity

Age of Imprisonment
Although Rito Village does not appear in Age of Imprisonment, it is mentioned on several occasions by the Rito. At the end of the Scenario "Shadows in the Snow" the Rito Elder Raphica reveals that the Village has been destroyed by the Monsters invading the Tabantha Frontier, though there are plans to rebuild.[16] He also claims that the Rito will be fine even without their home.[17]
Trivia
- In Breath of the Wild, the soundtracks that play in Rito Village, "Rito Village (Day)" and "Rito Village (Night)", feature the melody of Dragon Roost Island's soundtrack, the home of the Rito in The Wind Waker. This was also the first game in the series to feature the Rito.
- The Houses in Rito Village were designed to resemble birdcages.[18]
- While designing Rito Village, Manabu Takehara had the traditional Andean song "El Cóndor Pasa" playing in his head, which resulted in the colorful cloths found throughout the Village.[18]

Since Raphica's so busy, Vence has been takin' the lead with the plans to rebuild Rito Village. That's gotta be hard on the guy—what with all the battles we're still fightin'—so let's help him out with a couple of materials, yeah?

The princess came to the village on official business, along with her shadow, that insufferable knight. I tried to talk with him while the princess met with the elder, but he was his usual quiet self. Why do people like him so? I also gave him the privilege of seeing me perform Revali's Gale. Nothing. No reaction at all to my impressive feat. I showed it to him even knowing there was a chance of failure, since it's still so new. He must truly be slow-witted. I tried to provoke him into facing me, but to no avail. It's like talking to a stone. Our interactions were a waste of time, so I flew off to find solace with Medoh. What's wrong with that guy?

I tried explaining this to the more headstrong Rito warriors, but they wouldn't listen to reason. Teba and Harth tried to confront Medoh, but it did not go well, and Harth was injured.
— Kaneli (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Teba escaped unscathed, but I fear he now plans to face Medoh alone.
— Kaneli (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
As a descendant of the Champions, perhaps you can help us. Please. Find Teba. If you work together, you may be able to stop Divine Beast Vah Medoh.

You have done it! And you survived at that! You conquered Divine Beast Vah Medoh! To think the beast has taken up roost at the top of the village! It looks simply...divine. If the legends are true, "the light from the Divine Beasts will ravage the Calamity." For now, Divine Beast Vah Medoh will become the protector of this village and live on in legend...
— Kaneli (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
Oh, yes! Of course! I must reward you properly! Feel free to take what you find in that treasure chest. You will get more use out of it than I.
— Kaneli (Breath of the Wild) - ↑
It is. Our village might be a pile of rubble, but at least now we can start rebuilding it in peace.

Even without a nest to call our home, the Rito will never stop soaring.
