Rogma
Rogma is a character in Echoes of Wisdom.[2]
Biography
Rogma is an assistant to Kushara, the chief of the Sea Zora. He plays the Flute, and he is known among his fellow Sea Zora to be a talented musician.[3] During their childhood, he and Kushara were close friends, and they would often practice their music together.[4]
Prior to Princess Zelda investigating the Rift at Lord Jabu-Jabu's Den, both Rogma and Kushara can be found in Kushara's quarters at the Sea Zora Village. They are concerned by the appearance of a Rift and Lord Jabu-Jabu's rampage.[5] When spoken to during this time, Rogma considers sending an attendant to investigate the Rift.[6] When Zelda visits Kushara's quarters during the Main Quest "The Jabul Waters Rift", she will find Rogma discussing the troubles in Jabul Waters with Kushara.[7] Kushara then declares that she is going to resolve the situation, which prompts Rogma to praise her and ask about her plan.[8] Upon hearing her goal to calm Lord Jabu-Jabu by playing music for him, Rogma realizes that Kushara's motivations stem from her recent argument with Dradd.[9]
After claiming she will never speak to Dradd again, Kushara commands Rogma to accompany her to Crossflows Plaza.[10] However, Rogma briefly stays behind to speak to Zelda, explaining that Kushara will not be able to meet with her until the issues in Jabul Waters have ended.[11] He then complains about how long this argument has drawn on.[12] Kushara calls out for Rogma to follow her, at which point Rogma excuses himself and leaves.[13]
The two of them encounter Dradd and his assistant, Inawa, at Crossflows Plaza. As Kushara and Dradd argue over who will calm Lord Jabu-Jabu, Rogma comments that they would have fought eventually, through he is distressed that it had to be here.[14] He tries to convince Kushara not to perform with Dradd to prove which is better, but Inawa reminds him that they will not listen.[15] After their performance, Rogma remarks that they were terrible.[16] Suddenly, the Echo of Lord Jabu-Jabu arrives and begins to inhale. Rogma and Inawa push their chiefs out of the way, and they are both swallowed as a result.[17][18]
Nomenclature
Like other Zora in Echoes of Wisdom, Rogma's name is derived from that of a fish which shares the same habitat. Since he is a Sea Zora, he is named after a saltwater fish. "Rogma" is derived from his Japanese name, ログマ (Roguma), which is an anagram of マグロ (maguro), the Japanese word for bluefin tuna (members of the Thunnus subgenus).

Rogma hasn't returned. I wonder if he's simply staying at Chief Kushara's side. He's quite a talented performer. I'd love to learn some music techniques from him.

I guess Rogma and Chief Kushara have been friends since they were kids! My mom said they used to spend all their time back then practicing music!

It's beyond belief. Lord Jabu-Jabu went wild at the same time that huge rift appeared.
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom)So much at once, Chief... That rampage alone is hard to fathom. He's never done that.

It's one problem after another—that large rift and now Lord Jabu-Jabu's behavior too. Perhaps my first step is to send an attendant to Lord Jabu-Jabu's den to look into the rift.

This is a grave situation. First, that rift... Now, Lord Jabu-Jabu going wild...

Lord Jabu-Jabu is the spirit of all Zora, but it falls to us to calm him. This crisis is without equal, and now it's time that I—Kushara of the Sea Zora—resolve it.
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom)Chief, what inspiring words! Please, tell me how you plan to do it.
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
Lord Jabu-Jabu loves our sea music. So I need onlt get him to listen to us perform. And then Dradd, that tuneless buffoon, will have to applaud my performance.
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom)I take it you haven't resolved your latest quarrel with the other chief yet.
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
And why would I? This quarrel is one for the ages! I will never speak to him again. He insulted my music. I will not tolerate his presence. It's like he lives to provoke me! Oh, we'd be fine if he agreed that I was more talented! Never mind all that. We have to leave immediately, Rogma.
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
Did you have a request of our chief? I'm sorry to say that, until she's resolved our problems, she won't have time to help.
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
If our crisis wasn't bad enough, our chief is quarreling with the River Zora chief. They often have their little quarrels but always make up quickly. Not this time. What's the saying? A squabble a day keeps a friendship in play? Such nonsense. Well, stranger, I shouldn't burden you with our troubles.

Rogma, please! We must be off to Crossflows Plaza!
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom)Yes, at once! If you'll excuse me...
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
Hey, Kushara! You can stuff your plan!
— Dradd (Echoes of Wisdom)We of the Sea Zora will bring calm to Lord Jabu-Jabu! Our music can quiet his rage!
— Kushara (Echoes of Wisdom)Ridiculous! We'll do it, not you!
— Dradd (Echoes of Wisdom)Yikes! They're at it again!
— Inawa (Echoes of Wisdom)It was only a matter of time before these two exploded. But not here, not now...
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
What, perform together in this state?! My chief, with all due respect—you can't hope to put on a great performance this way!
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom)It's no use. There's no stopping them when they get like this.
— Inawa (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
That was terrible.
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
B-Boss! Watch out!
— Inawa (Echoes of Wisdom)Chief Kushara! Get back!
— Rogma (Echoes of Wisdom) - ↑
Lord Jabu-Jabu seemed to be upset by the terrible performance and gulped down two of the Zora. The chiefs headed north in pursuit of Lord Jabu-Jabu.
