Biography

Breath of the Wild

Rozel is an old man living in Lurelin Village. He wakes up every morning at 5:00 AM and walks to one of the village's docks, although if it is raining, he stays inside or runs back in with his hands covering his head if it occurs during the day.

Link can talk to Rozel as soon as he wakes up, and if he does, Rozel first either tells him to take his time looking around the village or to be careful if he plans to go out to sea.[4][5] Additionally, Rozel may also comment on the weather.[6] Next, Link can ask him many things about the village and the surrounding area. If he asks about the village, Rozel explains that it is a fishing village and then he used to be a fisherman as well when he was younger, and tells him that he should try some of its fish as they are delicious.[7] When it is raining, Rozel also says that it is too dangerous to go fishing, and mentions the Treasure-Chest Game played by fishermen in Cloyne's shop.[8][9] If asked about the ocean, Rozel tells him of treasure that still may be underwater, and that Link could probably find some if he looked hard enough.[10] Link may also ask him about Eventide Island, and if he does, Rozel tells him that it is a big island to the east of the village, surrounded by some legends.[11] If Link has visited the island, he can tell Rozel, who is then amazed at his accomplishment.[12] Finally, Link can ask Rozel about nearby ruins, which Rozel says are east of the village at Palmorae Beach. He also tells Link about Garini, a young man who often visits the old site, and that he should go see the ruins as well as Garini knows much more about them.[13] If it is raining, he also mentions that Garini also visits the ruins when it rains.[14] Once Link says goodbye, he is told to come back if he has any more questions.[15]

He starts heading home at 10:00 PM, and if Link tries to talk to him at this time, Rozel says that he can talk to him tomorrow if he needs something.[16]
