Hyrule Compendium Entry
Rugged Rhino Beetles can be found resting on Trees in Hyrule Field and the Faron Grasslands. Cooking one with Monster Parts in a Cooking Pot will create a Tough Elixir, which will temporarily increase Link's Defense when consumed. The Kochi Dye Shop accepts Rugged Rhino Beetles as an ingredient for Green Dye.
When Link speaks to Beedle with at least one Rugged Rhino Beetle in his Inventory, Beedle will notice and ask for it.[4] In return, he offers Link a Tough Elixir.[5] If Link accepts, Beedle will be happy, remarking that he is adding it to his collection.[6] When Link speaks to Beedle afterwards, he claims to still be excited about the Beetle.[7] He claims that if Link has another, he should give it to him tomorrow, as he is going to be focusing on his new Beetle for the rest of the day.[8] If Link refuses, Beedle believes that he misjudged Link's character.[9]
