Ruto Mountain is a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Features and Overview

Breath of the Wild

Ruto Mountain is a part of the Lanayru Great Spring, located between Ruto Lake and Rutala River. It is bordered to the north by Ruto Precipice. The path to Zora's Domain connects to Ruto Mountain from Luto's Crossing, which then curves through the Mountain. Four small ponds can be found on top of the Mountain, as well as several Ore Deposits. There is a small campsite near the Mountain's peak, which contains a Campfire and a Cooking Pot. Until Divine Beast Vah Ruta is calmed, Rain will constantly fall on Ruto Mountain.[4]

As part of the "Zora Stone Monuments" Side Quest, Link must examine the four Stone Monuments that can be found on Ruto Mountain.[5] The first is the History of the Zora, Part Four, which tells the history of the Lightscale Trident and is located south of Luto's Crossing.[6] The second is the History of the Zora, Addendum 1 near the Mountain's peak, telling a story about King Dorephan.[7] Next, the History of the Zora, Part Six, which recounts the history of Divine Beast Vah Ruta, can be found on the southeastern side of the Mountain. Lastly, a worn down copy of the History of the Zora, Part Seven is located on the northwestern side of Ruto Mountain.[8]

Four Treasure Chests can be found on Ruto Mountain. The first is a metal Chest embedded in the ground northwest of the Mountain's peak, and it contains a bundle of five Bomb Arrows. The next is made of stone and is buried underneath a pile of bombable rocks, and a Silver Rupee can be found inside. Due south, the last two Treasure Chests, which are metal, can be found submerged in a pond. They contain a Zora Spear and an Ice Arrow, respectively.

There are a total of two Korok Seed Puzzles on Ruto Mountain. The first is a Natural Hiding Spot, taking the form of a Rock that Link can pick up on the Mountain's peak. The other is a group of Leaves with Fairy Dust that dart around a pond northeast of Luto's Crossing, which Link can examine. When each of these Puzzles are solved, a Korok will appear and give Link a Korok Seed.[9]
