Sacred Orb
The Sacred Orb,[1] also referred to as the Treasured Orb[2] and the Treasure of the Gerudo,[3] is an Object in Breath of the Wild.
Location and Uses
The Sacred Orb is an Ancient Orb that is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack. It has been treasured and protected by the Gerudo for generations.[1] During the "EX Champion Urbosa's Song" Main Quest, Link can hear the part Unfinished Song left by Kass's teacher that references Urbosa's Divine Beast Tamer's Trial.[4] One of the lyrics mentions the Sacred Orb, instructing Link to throw it underground.[5]
Link can ask Riju and Buliara about the Sacred Orb. While Buliara is initially shocked that he knows about it,[6] she quickly apologizes for losing her temper.[7] On the contrary, Riju asks Link if he is challenging the Divine Beast Tamer's Trial that Urbosa faced 100 years ago.[8] Both of them reveal that the Sacred Orb was recently stolen by the Yiga Clan,[9][10] with Buliara recalling rumors that they have begun to gather at the Yiga Clan Hideout again.[11] Riju in particular is humiliated, as they have already suffered the theft of the Thunder Helm.[12] Buliara was the one who noticed the Sacred Orb was missing, so only the two of them are aware of the second theft.[13][14]
Riju asks Link to help them retrieve the Sacred Orb from the Yiga Clan.[15] If he does so, she will allow him to use it in order to complete the Divine Beast Tamer's Trial.[16] As Link needs the Sacred Orb, Riju wishes him luck in finding it.[17] While she regrets having to rely on Link again, Riju informs him that she is counting on him.[18]
The front entrance to the Yiga Clan Hideout through Karusa Valley is inaccessible at this time. Therefore, in order to find the Sacred Orb, Link must enter through the Master Kohga's Room at the back of the Hideout. At this back entrance, Mils and Mina will be scouting the Hideout. The pair followed the Yiga Clan back to this location with the intention of stealing and selling the Sacred Orb.[19] However, they were deterred by the Hideout being filled with Yiga Clan soldiers.[20][21] They have been able to determine that the Sacred Orb was stashed in the storage area on the second floor of the Yiga Clan Hideout Hall, but Mils considers taking it to be too great of a risk.[22] Mina suspects that the Yiga Clan are planning to throw the Sacred Orb into the bottomless pit in accordance with an old legend.[23]
Inside the Yiga Clan Hideout, Yiga Blademasters have returned to their patrols. Link must either defeat them and the Yiga Footsoldiers they summon or sneak past them. Afterwards, he will be able to leave the Hideout with the Sacred Orb. Mils is surprised that Link was able to steal the Sacred Orb,[24] saying that the Yiga Clan will chase him down if they find out.[25] Mina, however, is enraged that Link managed to take it before they could.[3]
To complete the Divine Beast Tamer's Trial, Link must throw the Sacred Orb into the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm. This will cause Kihiro Moh Shrine to emerge from the ground nearby. Mina scolds Link for wastefully throwing away the treasure,[26] as she would have taken it if he did not want it.[27] Mils is similarly shocked and asks Link what he was thinking.[28]
