Breath of the Wild
Sand-Seal Rental Shops are a variety of Shop that exists only within Gerudo Town. Their purpose is to rent trained Sand Seals to people heading into the Gerudo Desert.[3] The Sand-Seal Rental Shop Southeast Booth is located near the Southeast Gate and operated Essa and Frelly, while the Sand-Seal Rental Shop Northwest Booth is situated near the Northwest Gate and operated by Kohm.
The Shops' Sand Seals are trained by Frelly to be faster than their wild counterparts, and they also do not run away if their rider dismounts them.[4][5] It costs Link 20 Rupees to rent a Sand Seal, although he can pay 50 Rupees to receive a Wooden Shield that he can use while Sand-Seal Surfing.[6][7]
Tears of the Kingdom
The Sand-Seal Rentals Shops in Gerudo Town return in Tears of the Kingdom. They have also been renamed to the Sand-Seal Rental Shop East Gate Booth and the Sand-Seal Rental Shop West Gate Booth. However, due to the Sand Shroud covering the Gerudo Desert, they are not operational until the Main Quest "Riju of Gerudo Town" has been completed. Frelly is in charge of the East Gate Booth, while Essa manages the West Gate Booth. In addition to these two Shops, a new Sand-Seal Rental Shop run by Kohm can be found near the entrance to the Gerudo Desert.
