The Sato Koda Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Support and Guidance,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild. It is exclusive to The Champions' Ballad DLC Pack.

Entrance to the Shrine

Sato Koda Shrine is located on top of Upland Zorana within the Lanayru Great Spring, though it is initially buried beneath the ground. It is one of three Ancient Shrines that must be accessed as part of the "EX Champion Mipha's Song" Main Quest.

If Link approaches Upland Zorana from the direction of Zora's Domain, he will come across Bazz and Seggin. When spoken to, Bazz warns Link of the blue-eyed Guardians that have appeared in the area.[2] Both he and Seggin reveal that they appeared last during Mipha's sacred Trial.[3][4] Seggin wonders if the Trial has been activated for someone else.[5]

In Upland Zorana, Link will find three Guardian Skywatchers and one Guardian Turret. Though they are uncorrupted by Malice, they must be defeated in order to reveal the Ancient Shrine.[6] Once the last Guardian has been defeated, Sato Koda Shrine will rise from the ground.[7] As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Sato Koda.[8]

Themes and Navigation

Sato Koda Shrine features a large contraption set upon an Waterfall. At its beginning, a giant Ancient Orb consistently spawns, but it is unable to reach the end before falling into the void. Its end is a large Concave Slot, into which the Ancient Orb must be inserted.

Using the Cryonis Rune, Link can create pathways for the Ancient Orb, preventing it from falling. He can also use the Stasis Rune to freeze the stone slabs in place, preventing them from titling to one side when the Ancient Orb falls on top of them. The Ancient Orb will eventually fall near the bottom of the contraption, which contains a Tilted Platform that periodically juts upwards. The Tilted Platform will launch the Orb into the Concave Slot, opening the portcullis blocking the Monk's Pedestal.

When Link approaches Sato Koda, they will commend him for completing the Ancient Shrine.[9] As a reward, the Monk gives Link one of Ruta's Emblems.[10] After giving Link the Emblem, Sato Koda will reveal that collecting all three of them will unlock a new trial.[11] They then state how many are left to obtain.[12][13] If Sato Koda Shrine is the last Ancient Shrine that Link visits during "EX Champion Mipha's Song," Sato Koda will tell him to return to Divine Beast Vah Ruta.[14]

A Treasure Chest sits on a platform above the Concave Slot. Link can access it by building a staircase with the Cryonis Rune. Inside, he will recover a Giant Ancient Core.
