Seesyde Village

Seesyde Village is located at the Zora Cove directly southwest of the Crossflows Plaza in the central Jabul Waters. It is a fishing community primarily inhabited by Hylians. The people of the Village make their homes above the Water in Houses that also double as Boats, with the exception of the Seesyde Village Shop which is a normal building built onto its docks.

When Princess Zelda first arrives, the Hylians are in a state of disarray as their fishing industry has been threatened by attacks from Lord Jabu-Jabu.[2][3] They believe this to be because he is upset over the Rift that has formed in his Den.[4] As a result of the threat, the residents have largely resigned themselves to staying inside the Village.[5][6] The Village itself has suffered from a lack of visitors as well.[7]

Anube and his family live in the blue-roofed boathouse in Seesyde Village, although Anube prefers to slip away to nap in the Woods to the North. Anube's mother is frustrated that he is so free-spirited, but asks Zelda to deliver the Grilled Fish she prepared for him.[8] This begins the "Deliver the Grilled Fish!" Side Quest. After completing the delivery and returning to Anube's mother, she will give Zelda 10 pieces of Bubble Kelp as thanks.[9] She also promises to prepare Grilled Fish for Zelda whenever she returns to the Village.[10] Anube's father, Mister Urrrp, can be found inside their boathouse. He explains that he likes to live in the Village because he can hear the River Zora and Sea Zora playing music at the nearby Crossflows Plaza, and that the music helps with his seasickness.[11] Mister Urrrp received his nickname from the local children because of his seasick nature, though he accepts the name because he likes to stand out.[12]

After the Rift inside Lord Jabu-Jabu's Den is mended, a Sea Zora will visit Seesyde Village to shop. However, he is asked to be a Hylian child's swim coach while shopping, and decides to stay to help.[13] They admit that the child's aptitude for swimming could surpass even a Zora,[14] though they still caution the child to focus on building her strength in the meantime.[13]

As part of the "Big Shot" Side Quest, a River Zora boy from Dradd's House asks to borrow an old man's boathouse because he has aspirations of becoming a "big shot", though he fails to return.[15][16] Zelda can find this boy to the south in Zora Cove, where he cowers atop the boathouse, surrounded by Monsters.[17] After Zelda rescues him, he thanks her and returns the ship to Seesyde Village.[18] Afterward, the Hylian man explains that the River Zora boy needed to borrow the Boat because the saltwater is unpleasant for his skin.[19] He is happy to see Zora visiting Seesyde Village and considers them to be neighbors in Jabul Waters who have an obligation to help each other.[20] After the Side Quest is completed, his red-roofed House can be visited at the south end of the docks.

The calico Cat found in the Village is originally from Gerudo Town.[21] She decided to stay in the Village because of the Hylian friend she made there.[21]

Seesyde Village is one of the locations that Jacint suggests visiting to his wife, Oethera.[22]
